This should tell you to NOT take a job.
Life is short. Stop and smell the roses and be thankful you are able.
Oh, I have a family member that does contract work. If I didn't know better, I think he is in the CIA. Spends more time out the country then in the last 5 years. And yes, he is a bad mofo.

I know. But I am honestly ashamed to say that I feel guilty not being over there.
You shouldn't feel ashamed at all. You should be proud as hell of everything you've done and sacrificed. It sounds like you have reservations about going, but will feel guilty if you do not go. You should have ZERO feelings of guilt or being ashamed. If you go I suspect you will feel guilty about not being with your family. You are already a freaking hero to a lot of us. Might be time to be a hero at home now. I know that's easier said than done.
Thanks for everything you've already done, man!

Sounds like it's time to hang up the boots for your family's sake

You've pulled your weight any many others. You've earned a life here.
Thanks

Syria? Anyways, if it's something you absolutely have your heart in then you should definetely take the offer. If you regularly have second thoughts about it then maybe you should let it go.

What would keep you going back to work?
As long as it was guaranteed that I could keep killing Muslims...

Keep going until someone tells you that you can't.

Deep down the beast within is never truly rested. It only slumbers from time to time.

I felt that guilt, I felt like I left the Stan too early.
Now with a family my priorities are different especially since I'm back in school.
I agree with list eater I'd say open a range, teach concealed carry courses, maybe close quarter combat etc.
I may be in the minority but I believe the shite will hit the fan here soon than later.

Quick Question: Who are you voting for President?
Posted on 7/28/16 at 7:21 am to Bushmaster
I would say it depends on your family situation and if you want to go back.
I'm in the military and have deployed multiple times. Before my child was born, it was dangerous, but tolerable. After she was born, it became miserable being away from her. Knowing that I was missing out on her growing up. I haven't deployed in a long time. Deployments, obviously, have slowed a great deal. I don't want to go back just because I don't want to miss anymore of her life. That being said, I'd go if I have to.
So, if you can go and tolerate what you are missing out on, I'm sure the rewards will be worth it. Missing family though is tough.
