I hope all the places participating are doing it for all the right reasons. Of course its an advertising opportunity for all these places, but I would like to think their first priority for doing it is for the reason it is suppose to be done for.

just because a good deed is misguided, doesn't mean its not a good deed.

Like a person feeding the homeless just to boost there ego. Well they still fed the homeless, and its still a good deed.

What if most of the companies are doing it just to meet there own moral values, or else they would feel guilty. Would it be wrong?

A lot of the things we do in life are for ourselves, egos, values, and self esteem, and thats ok, especially if it benefits others.

how is the Penthouse gonna do this? they serve food?

Penthouse gets slammed on Mondays and Tuesdays for S.I.N. night. Free cover and cheap drinks so everyone buys more and they still make bank in overall sales.

I have no idea how any major local business feels like they don't need to participate. If my business had any public sales id be on that list

BR community showed up tonight for sure! We went to Bistro Byronz on Gov't and it was packed. My other family members went to Tio Javis and they said it was packed. We even went to Melting Pot for dessert for the police.

I own a place on the list and have friends that own and are affiliated with many participating businesses. Everyone is having a pretty outstanding turnout from what I have heard feedback-wise.

One thing I really like about our community is that we tend to step up when it really matters. A lot of employees at these establishments have shown a lot of pride in what we are doing.

My employees have been excited to play a part in something that is directly helping our city. The customers have all been fantastic in understanding that wait times will be a little bit longer than normal.

I would like to see this become an annual event and I think it has a lot of potential to develop into something great for our community.

TLDR: Solid work BR. Solid Work.

Spasweezy I wish I could up vote this more than once. And an annual event is an awesome idea even if it were smaller scale. Kudos to you and your employees and all participating spots for a job well done.

FYI

Rotolo's will be doing this All Day Thursday, not just evening business. All BR locations (Perkins Road, Government Street and Millerville Road), as well as Denham Springs, Walker, Watson, Prairieville and Gonzales, will be participating.

Agreed. I made a shorter version of your post yesterday in a different thread about giving to others.
