Released on digital today and I decided to give the extended cut a shot. I didn't see this in theaters. Never got the chance. Plus I fricking hated Man of Steel. I don't like Superman.

That being said - this movie was good. I have no clue why it's gotten shite on like it's the second coming of that shitastic Fantastic Four movie. It is nowhere near that realm of awfulness. It's not awful at all. I thought it was really fricking good.

Affleck is great as both Wayne and Batman. Gadot is hot and a strong Diana. Both gave very good performances.

A few of the criticisms I remember reading:

Batman uses guns - so? This is an older, jaded Bat. He's obviously been through the events of the Red Hood or some similar shite. It has taken a toll on him and changed his philosophy and approach to crime fighting. This is understandable and makes sense.

"Your mother is Martha, too? Duuuuuude." - this was not as cheesy and stupid as the haters made it out to be. I expected some ridiculous moment that was completely unbelievable, but instead I got it. It was a moment that made sense to me and it felt real to me.

I can't recall the other criticisms, but those two I know I saw a lot.

Nothing felt rushed or out of sync. Maybe this was a problem in the theatrical cut, but I didn't have any problems with these in the extended cut. The whole thing flowed really well.

I'm still not happy about Grant Gustin not being The Flash in this universe, but I get the problems that could arise from trying to blend those universes together.

This movie was a surprise to me after all the flack it caught. I loved it and I'm. Now super excited about this cinematic universe. Can't wait for WW and SS and the rest of the JL movies.

Signed,
A confessed Marvel/Spidey fanboy

One of the few movies I can say would be better with less and not more.

Also, you killed superman you counts

While she isn't bad looking, she has the body of a 14 year old girl that just got her first training bra. Nothing about her exudes strength. She looks like her leg might snap in half it's so frail looking, just from walking, although it doesn't have to hold up any weight since she only weighs like 100lbs as a 5'10 woman.

And i like Gadot, but they should have picked a woman that looked more like the real wonder woman, with actual tits.

Casting Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman is like casting DJ Qualls as Batman

Batman's killed in other movies as well. The meltdown was amusing to see.

The extended cut was a much better film than the theatrical release.

I mean everyone is entitled to their opinion, but.....

Makes little sense. They doubled down on MoS, rather than fixing it. It had a TON of the same problems, a terrible version of Superman, plot points rather than characters, a dark for dark's sake tone, and lots of emo tonal shifts thrown in.

It did have a few good editions, Batman and WW, but a worse villain.

I very much disliked MoS ("f-ing hated" is too strong imo), but this movie did absolutely nothing to change my opinion of the MoS world, nor did I think it had any evidence of TRYING to change the world it presented.

Again, to each his own, but I just don't see this. It was an even worse film because it just exacerbated nearly every problem in MoS, which I really didn't think was possible given the reaction to MoS.

However, maybe the extended is vastly different, I have not seen it.

Did they explain why Lex blew up the Capitol Building? I feel like that would have helped a great deal.

The extended version was immensely better. There were still some things missing, IMO. A lot of the same problems were still present for me. I've gone into great detail voicing those things, so I won't do it here.

But, at least now the movie makes sense in the first half. It didn't feel choppy like before. Things were much better explained. Like why people were where they were. Whoever the a-hole was who decided to cut this movie needs to be led out of the building. It was just asinine some of the scenes that were deleted.

At first, I gave this movie a 3/10 out of anger. Since then I changed my score on the theatrical cut to 4/10, which is just below average for me. The Ultimate Cut is easily a 6/10. I'm still angry about handling of Superman. That anger really made me want to give this movie a 5/10, which is average. But I can't deny there are some really amazing action sequences and now that the movie actually makes sense for the most part, it's easily an above average movie. 6/10 is very fair.

The Ultimate Edition is the version that should have been shown in theaters. I just got done watching it and I believe it is a marked improvement over the theatrical cut. While it's no Kingdom of Heaven Director's Cut, it does fix a lot of the problems I had with the movie when I watched it in theaters back in March.

I'll give the Ultimate Edition a 7/10. It's worth the watch.

The theatrical release was awful. Zac Snyder sucks at story telling, all he cares about is cinematography. He should have spent as much time telling the story as he did crafting that necklace around the gun shot.

Who the hell was the monster at the end? What the frick is "blood of my blood?" Two more minutes of dialogue would have done wonders. Could have cut one of useless dream sequences to fit it in.

The movie felt too much like The Watchmen to me. Except Snyder did not have material to work with, so he screwed it up.
