Because big, slugging catchers who have their eyes set on playing pro aren't going to sit behind a catcher that has the job locked up with only one year of eligibility left. I'm not implying I want him to transfer or anything, but you have to look at it from the player's point of view. I imagine he's going to want go somewhere and be the man so he can get drafted.

I'm not sure if Romero will transfer, but if he does that could put us in a bind. We only have forshag and Rankin Woley on the bench, who will be a freshman, that will be capable of being a back up. I'm not even sure if Woley will play catcher either, some sites list him as a 2nd baseman

Romero wasn't drafted and the only way he'd play next year is by transferring down, which would be foolish. He will be DH for us next year.

I could see Stallings leaving for the right number.
