Was LSU really a top 8 team? I'm thinking they got the Super because they are.. LSU.

Care to tell me who deserved a top 8 seed over LSU this year?

DUMB arse...

We beat the #1 team 3 of 5 and were HOT at the end of the season, going like 14-3 (estimate) against the HIGHEST competition before the seeds were selected.

Definitely. Ole Miss deserved it, that's why they got swept in their own regional.

in the weeks leading up to the seeding, LSU beat the #1 team in the country 3 times out of 5

they didnt do that just because "its LSU" they did it because they're a good team

We just ran out of fuel this past weekend

it doesnt mean we werent a good team

Based on the fact that the last national seed came down to LSU, Ole Miss, Clemson, and SC, wouldn't you say that LSU deserved it?

Ole Miss crashed and burned in two games in Regional, Clemson didn't make it out of their own Regional, and SC posted same post-season record as LSU but finished season much weaker.

Pre-season? Yes

We deserved a top-8 seed IMHO. Not sure who had a more deserving resume'. If you find one I'll listen to an argument.

Did South Carolina, Louisville, and the others that were upset get inflated ratings?

Its sports, its baseball. Louisville shut out their opponent until the bottom of the ninth. Leading three to nothing with the bases loaded, a guy who only had twenty-six appearances all season, stepped up and knocked a gram slam home run.

Was Louisville over rated?

Did you think this before we lost to a good Coastal Carolina team? Or is this just a reaction to last night? Also, who do you think was more deserving of the #8 seed?

Since Louisville, Moo State, and TAMu lost do they not deserve their top 8 seeds?

We shite the bed in the end but few teams had argument to be an 8th seed. LSU was super hot at the end of the year in arguably the toughest conference.

Oh shut up. How many national seeds advanced to Omaha??

So sick of LSU fans like you that just say LSU didn't deserve a ranking without looking at the competition.

Every seasonal ranking is unique to the teams around you. We just made it in and we deserved. Ole Miss just missed out and went o-2 in their regional and they were just as hot.. Miss st who won the sec lost as well. It's baseball

LSU was ranked where they should have been given their record and the record of others

Pre-season without question IMHO. Much like Kentucky in hoops we are rated on reputation much of the time in the pre-season rankings.

As for landing the Super I think maybe the conference was a bit overrated this year and we got points for finishing fourth even though the SEC was not as good as usual. JMO.

I also think there is a sentiment that LSU overachieved this year because they were not as talented as they usually are and still finished fourth in the SEC.

I personally think we ended up about where we should have with the talent at hand and relative to the talent of our peers.

Hey, better than underachieving like some other teams on campus.

I believe we do to a degree because of Alex Box. Espn wants a full, rowdy stadium. LSU is one of the few colleges that can deliver that every time.

In LSU's last 4 games they had 42 hits to 36 opponent hits, outhit the opponent in 3 of 4 games, and were only outhit by 1 in the other. They went 1-3.

The team with the most hits wins most of the time, and teams should expect to be 50-50 in games where the team with fewer hits wins, so probably "should have" gone 3-1 or at least 2-2.

Over the course of a season, these things average out; LSU had a stretch against the Mississippi schools where they probably "should have" been 4-2 but instead were 2-4, then followed it up with an 11 game win streak where they probably "should have" been roughly 8-3.

Unfortunately, postseason baseball doesn't allow time for these types of corrections for the losing team, but Coastal Carolina certainly shouldn't expect to keep winning games where they commit 3 errors and give up 10 hits.
