I'm sure I also have some coloring, with markers, on tap for this afternoon. She loves to color with markers. And she drinks anything out of a red solo cup with a straw. Except milk...she's over milk.

t's a sad time in America when the thing that makes me most grateful about your post is the fact that your daughter will actually have a father in the home......
Yep. Was going to say that being a father is only important to about 50% of the population anymore. Even less for a 2 parent home.

I'm sitting here holding my two week old daughter and I've never felt at such peace before.
Enjoy that peace. It won't last long at all.
First time dad? Once the baby learns to cry and the mom's harmones start raging, you'll be longing for that peace that's only found at a bar far away.
Oh, and enjoy the reduction (read: "no") sex.

congrats man. i have 2.5 year old and a 2.5 month old boys. nothing makes me happier than these to boys, even when the 2.5 year old is being a shite and trying to wrestle his brother.

How about hold your child and not worry about posting?

I had more "fun" before I had kids but I'm generally happier post kids.

Congrats. We just had our second, a girl two months ago. She is the best. Her older brother has already taken up protecting her against our dogs

Wait till she shits and pukes on you while trying to use a public restroom.

Yeah I'm joking as far as downhill. It's great but with those times requiring extreme patience, self-control and bearing. I had great parents so at least I have that model in my head. My favorite age is probably 3-7, when they're cute and silly without even trying and start learning how to do enough to make things a bit easier, but before the attitude starts kicking in.
That is a good age...and if they are raised properly during this period...paid a lot of attention and not allowed to run amuk...the next 10 years ain't unbearable...between 3 and about 5 is when they learn to respect their parents and the key is to respect them...not belittle them or scare them but simply treat them like the individuals they are...
It is amazing to me how much difference there is between girls and boys. My son has always been as translucent as a glass of ice water...my little girl came out of the womb manipulating her world and playing on the emotions of those around her...at 6 she is the equivalent of a 21 year old man in manipulating her surroundings....there is almost always an angle..

My son is 5 weeks old and I completely agree.

My family was living in Ponce when I was born. I wasn't born there though. But it's pretty interesting to see someone posting from there.

I will be there in August
Its such a strange feeling for an expecting dad. The anticipation of just knowing my life will forever change is scary but extremely exciting....like the ascent of a roller coaster; I know it is coming, can't speed up the process or really plan for it, but ready to take the ride.
ETA: Stop posting while you are holding your infant daughter you piece of shite.

Love this post. I don't want kids because I am a selfish 35 year old child, and that is ok. But the love and gratitude expressed here made me look back and realize what my parents sacrificed for me. And I think I will go call them now and tell them I love them.

Congrats bro, my son is 7 months old, and I know exactly what you're feeling. He's taking a nap next to me right now actually.
Watch out for her mom's post birth hormones. They go completely insane.

Advise...
you are a parent task with rearing a child to be the best person possible with moral compass
you are her dad not her friend
so many of today's parents take the easier path of friending their child rather than the harder path of setting guidelines, boundries and saying no
