CSP said he's still rehabbing the knee. Should be ready by camp.

If not, I'm even happier we drafted a Safety

Flip side is that Vonn Bell will get more snaps in camp, which can only bode well for our early development hopes

Mickey really f'd this one up. Byrd has done literally nothing for us and set us back financially.

Fans: saints are never proactive.

Sounds like this was extremely proactive. Peat, Thomas, and bell were extremely proactive.

Its pretty common for vets that have injury histories to be held out of OTAs.

Honestly what the frick, I've tried to be patient with his injury but this is ridiculous. He owes this team money

He was a top 3 S in the league before he came to the Saints so at the time it wasn't a bad signing. The Saints have a way of fricking up any defensive talent when you're almost devoid of it on defense as it is. When you only have a couple guys who can play and then the rest of your starters/depth shouldn't be starting on an NFL team, it makes everyone around them look bad. It's not just Byrd but our scheme is broke. A guy like Byrd is not even used to his strengths like he was in Buffalo. Not sure it would matter but it certainly wouldn't hurt.

I believe everything Ryan said last year that the scheme was basically handed over to Allen at the beginning. If anyone thinks the defense will get better this year with him as DC you're mistaken. Until Payton realizes his buddy coaches are dragging him down on this team we'll never improve. Allen is a good DB coach but he fricking sucks as a DC. Just look at how he used some players last year. Saints go out and sign Byrd at the time and Ryan said he didn't even have input on that decision. It wasn't his decision and he never said he wanted him because he wasn't stupid enough to realize a good S was enough to put that defense over the top. He knew that year with the 2 book ends he had was an anomaly because he lacked depth. All it took was 1 change or injury there and that's what happened only Junior was a dumbass. You can't have a good secondary before a good front seven something that seems to be lost on SP through his era here. That seemed very much a Loomis/Payton move as Ryan said because they're both 100% clueless how to operate a defense as they've proven through the entire Payton era. Payton always finds talent on offense but very rarely on defense. Coincidence? I think not. Loomis sucked before Payton even came here and got lucky with 1 06 draft.

Cam had back surgery. Don't know anything about Cooks.

Dumb statement. He was a top 3 safety when we got him. How is Loomis supposed to know he'd come here and shite the bed?

Cooks is rehabbing from the injuries he suffered last season. Not a big deal
