Was #14 in receiving yards on a team where everyone and their momma touches the ball.

You are ignorant.

That would actually require cooks to not go down from someone sneezing on him. Not sure that's entirely possible

How df is Cooks soft just asking...? He stretches out for passes and gives maximum effort. Just because he's smart by avoiding hits when can he's soft? Gtfo, the guy isn't built to be an in traffic wideout taking huge shots. He has job of stretching the defense and making big plays and he does that shite well.

Moore would be legit if we went out and got him. And he's only 27. Not that old.

I'm hoping for Moore as well. I think Brees could make a decent weapon out of him.

While I don't think he's great and likely would not make all NFL rosters, I could easily see him filling the niche role like Devery & Meachem used to do and be our deep man and being a contributor

people are pissed he runs out of bounds instead of gaining an extra 1-2 yards (even after he already got the first down...) to avoid getting blasted.

I get the whole football = warrior mentality, but longevity and being there for your team by avoiding unnecessary hits like that is vastly more important...

That's all we'd need him to be: A role guy

That's exactly what he'd be as a 4th/5th guy,a guy that has decent size and fits the burner role.

I'd like to think he'd be productive consider ing the very respect able numbers he put up in oak when they had jack and shite for QBs

Signing Moore or Brown would absolutely be a good move

It's the expectations of the #1 pick. In the CSP era, how many #1 picks that haven't been crushed on this board? Not many if any.

That doesn't answer the question presented.
The truth of the matter is every 1st rounder since Jordan has been crushed on here. Jordan is the only one that hasn't been beat up on here in the CSP era that I can remember but I feel like I am forgetting someone...

Edit: I do agree with your statement though. I like the last 4

Pretty obvious to everyone but these stat watchers Cooks had been a dissapointment. Sure he makes plays when the game is already out of reach, sure he had 2 big games, the very last 2 games of the season to ensure our draft position took a hit.

Sure he made some meaningless plays. Man cooks is simply not good, definite disappointment. And any decent young WR puts up better stats with Brees here. Cooks is simply average, John Brown is a better version and he was a 3rd round pick. Drafted with the pick we threw away for Cooks.

Listen man, I know you melt hard about cooks but here's the truth: he isn't a major bust or super bad, but he is not the WR1 we all wish he was. He just isn't. But I think he will be a high-volume gadget player for a while here.

agreed. all of them get crushed post-2009.

Patrick Robinson (even when he balled out as a nickel corner), Mark Ingram (even when he was top 4 in total yards before injury), and Brandin Cooks (even though he posted 1100/9 as the only receiver worth a damn in his 2nd year...).

the constant shitting on halfway decent players make it ad nauseam that the peat and anthony disdain is not even bearable to listen to anymore

I think part of the fan base has gotten way too bigheaded and arrogant.

It's insane that other teams players(especially ones that have left for whatever reason) are praised when ever they do something, but the guys that actually are productive on the own team they claim to cheer for are treated with disrespect.

They also let their own bias get into the equation of evaluating a player(see Ingram for half a decade)

Its absurd to me and quite disappointing
