And is 500gb the way to go or would 250gb be enough? I don't really download any movies or anything

With storage, just buy as much as you can afford. However, a big hard drive isn't that necessary when you consider you will also be able to use your 1 TB HDD to backup whatever you want. Also, with cloud storage being so cheap these days, I've been getting by easily with 250 GB for years.

I got the 500GB. I could probably live with 250GB and be okay and never use the rest. It wasn't much more and I like the extra wiggle room in case I have to load a work program on my computer and do a project.
