I still need to finish Uncharted 3 and wasn't planning on getting 4, but these damn threads like this make me want to go get it
I may just watch the rest of the cutscenes in 3 because after seeing pics of 4, I feel like I would be underwhelmed going back

I work out of town so i can game guilt free, but i am going home to work at the home office in a few weeks, so this is may last guilt free game for a while im sure

I played Uncharted 1 last week to refresh memory and it was still very enjoyable...they hold up very well

I saw people asking and thought it wasn't necessary, but I don't know that you can appreciate the homogeneous and analogous traits
I love what's exactly the same, and appreciate that it's unchanged while simultaneously admiring what's new in tone, structure, pacing, focus and mechanical
Personal reccomendation I'd expect you to ignore. Stop now and crush the first 3 then start this one over

From a storyline standpoint, it's the worst one, but it has the best set pieces. I believe for #3, they just designed a story around the set pieces they had in mind.

if I had to sneak this in, it would strain my marriage, I would just be constantly thinking about playing this game

I got the PS4 collection when it came out and crushed the first two and a half and then The Show came out and it devoured my gaming time. So I might just finish it up real quick

The German u boat moment still looks and feels amazing. I remember thinking this game is kind of meh until that part.

yeah, if i had to go home tonight and deal with soccer practice or something instead of firing up the PS4 as soon as i walk in the door, it would be rough

i hope yall are right. otherwise, itll be a swift trade-in towards Overwatch. i beat the first 3 in about 4 hours each and knew id never play them again.
since Druckmann and Straley are at the helm, im trusting yall. hoping for a fun, 12 hour experience with replay value. dont give a frick about collectibles and endings, i just want different paths and tactics for the levels. we'll see i guess
multiplayer looks fun too

Uncharted never broke my suspension of disbelief because the pacing is so tight
But it's hard to ignore that even the body count of one game makes Nathan the most prolific killer of all time and of course I feel it playing the game so while that will undoubtedly be true of this one, I like that the stealth options will likely eliminate the only criticism I have against uncharted in terms of the experience
ETA: please note that my "one criticism" is a reach, it's my one criticism that wouldn't even come up if I spent 12 hours talking about the series

Just got this yesterday. Can you save anywhere in the game? I got to *SPOILERS*
the fight in the prison (like 20 minutes in) and then saved it. Will I have to repeat the entire beginning?

Last night i was sneaking around for like 5 minutes in the tall grass trying not to kill anyone..then i reached to check my phone and accidentally fired my gun...5 minutes later, gunfight over, at least 20 men dead

It auto saves. You can pretty much turn it off any time you're ready to stop so long as you don't do it during a cutscene, in which case you'd have to watch (or skip) the cutscene

I'm curious to see if this game has the metal gear solid v vibe meaning when what you described happens, the frick up and ensuing gun battle feels awesome...improvisational if you will.
I hope so because Nathan drake is the ultimate improvisational character...like that line from raiders "I'm making it up as I go along"
