Didn't realize this.

I see now why this uncharted is so much better than the other uncharted games.

It's making a hard push for my top game released this year.

Man it's like playing a ~15 hour gorgeous movie

Add that to some stealth elements stolen from last of us, great story, and apparently a legit multi-player.

Side note... Drake: So a pirate walks into a bar with a steering wheel stuck out of nuts. Bartender asks the pirate whats with the steering wheel. Pirate replies arr, it's driving me nuts.

Sully: don't make me leave you out here

The graphics are unreal, the relationships more interesting, and the mechanics improved. I'm only just starting chapter 6, but it has yet to surpass
Uncharted 2 for me.

The attic scene though...naughty dog does so much with so little to add to characters and story. It doesn't tell you drake is longing for adventure, but it shows you, all while having some nostalgic fun

The last of us is the only game to challenge my long held view that ocarina of time is the greatest video game ever made.

Like I said in my last post, naughty dog gets so much out of those little moments, the dialogue and setting

just greatness

one of the main things that makes it feel like a love letter to uncharted fans

This is one of those rare games where the focus, pacing, story makes it so I can play and my wife is more than happy to sit there and watch. Like it is a movie

I had way too much fun grabbing the toy gun and running around the attic in and out of cover shooting ping pong balls at targets

my only real complaint about the game right now is how traversing the environment to get from point A to point B feels forced. wish you had more freedom on which direction you went. takes me out of immersion when I'm forced to find the path the developer is leading me. then when I find the path I know I'm safe no matter the obstacle I come across.

of course I guess that's just part of it being a linear story line driven game and not open world.

speaking of open world, this is like a breath of fresh air from that over-saturation game style. so glad I don't have to worry about picking up quests or leveling up talents or crafting shite. wouldn't complain if there's crafting later in game, but I'm not complaining that it's not being used right now.

I like that they included all of that. Instead of telling us or even showing us (which they do this as well)...we experience it, and I've seen some reviews criticizing the pacing and editing (like some shite that shouldn't have been in the game to make it tighter) which blows my mind

Ostensibly, the attic and drake's house is unnecessary...but it really puts you into the character, which is crucial to enjoying this game which so far seems to have heavier emphasis on the relationships. I feel like drake because theres a shared desire for another adventure and it creates a sense of anticipation within the game itself

ETA: it was originally lost on me in chapter 5 that this is the first moment in uncharted where I'm not in control of drake and where he is entirely absent.

Played all the way to chapter 8 last night. Man, what an addicting game. The mechanics are so fluid. The little details, like drake putting out his hand and touching walls when running past them are what make it so immersing.

Graphics are really stunning as well.

if you're married, you want to hug the directors. I don't have to sneak this in during a late night, early morning, or when my wife has some appointment or errand.

Almost every video game I've played since I moved in with my wife (then gf) has been like a dirty little secret. She gave me a week of guilt free video gaming for Arkham knight though
