Looking to make a full day of it, coming from Slidell. Which ones are close enough to each other so that we might hit 3-4 in a day? Any advice is appreciated...

There are some between Baton Rouge and New Orleans along the Mississippi river, including Houmas House. Hit those and make sure you don't miss Houmas House

There are a bunch in Natchez if you ever go there. My favorite is Longwood, which was under construction when the Civil War started and as a result was never finished.

Houmas House and Nottoway are not that far from each other. To me the star at Houmas House is the grounds, the house is just okay.

Only one I have been to in Louisiana is Oak Alley. I liked it.

Oak Alley is the mecha. I grew up there and am still amazed by its history and natural beauty. By visiting it you can also catch Laura plantation.

I'd suggest Laura, Houma's House and Nottoway. In that order, but all our great.

Why not hit Destrehan, San Francisco and then Houmas House on the way to BR. Then cross the river and see Nottoway, Whitney and Oak Alley.

That dude Cummings, the one funding the removal of the monuments in NO, has set up a "Disneyland for White Guilt" at Whitney Plantation if you are into self flagellation. If not, I'd bypass that one.

This basically sums it up, but Tezcuco is no longer as it burned to the ground in 2002. All of these are within a reasonable distance from each other, I doubt you would have time to do all of them in one day though. Houma's House and Oak Alley should both be on your list
