And because of this post I've decided I am going to take off the whole week and go visit my family in bham and see UM on Thursday as well.

Nice.

Chastain is pretty cool. I've only seen one show there. It was Wilco in 2008, and it absolutely poured. It was fun as hell, and the music was great, but I feel like when it pours like that, its hard to gauge how much you like a venue.

That's pretty funny. The one time I've been to Chastain it rained like hell too. It was for a Bela Fleck & the Flecktones concert where they played with the Atlanta Symphony for part of the show. I did like the venue but I was not prepared for rain and we got absolutely drenched.

Cheese fan base is much larger than UM. Sounds like a bunch of Cheese haters in here. I will also be at Cheese for the 3rd and 4th. Can't friggin wait. It is laughable how some think UM is better than Cheese.

To be fair that's because they barely ever play down here. The recent ATL run was the first of its kind in years.

that is true. MOE. would be somebody else that doesnt play in the south enough. Bisco has Aura down at suwanee in the spring but you're right they dont play much. I get a chance to go to my first Bisco show, on my birthday, this year in Denver. I am pretty excited.

I had only heard of the myth of Particle before moving to denver. i just happen to catch them one night downtown and have really gotten into them

Nice. In my Moe thread I had just found out about archive.org. Moe. Is the tits. I wish they would venture further down south more often. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they will be doing Bear Creek in Nola this year.

UM has talent per se but has no soul whatsoever. Too robotic for me. I'll never pay money to see them again.

I have the moe. Warts n All vols. 1-5...I believe there is a vol. 6 which I don't have. I like 5 the best followed by 3.

The DVD they put out about 10 years ago isn't bad either. If you play it loud in DTS 5.1 with a large sub the walls throughout the entire house shake ...they dig deep on the bass!

I have not seen them in years--last time was at Tips during Mardi Gras around '98 or '99 if memory serves me right. I wouldn't mind catching them again.

They do have a vol. 6. It's on Spotify.

Yeah, I thought I saw a vol. 6 somewhere along the way. I have a Rhapsody and a Tidal account--I'll look for it there in a minute.

Half dozen posters from this board will be traveling from Nola for those shows. Not sure if you're thinking about The Ogden or Red Rocks but you'll have to meet up with our krewe. Beers are on us.
