Yeah bro I enjoy living here but we have to be in the shittiest spot as far as vacationing nearby is concerned. Nothing close at all and I've pretty much explored every bit of this state.
I thought about beaching it but my SO is going to going on two beach batchelorette parties this summer.
I'm considering making a longer trip to Austin and going hike a few trails. Never been there so not sure what else there is to do. Heard it's great though.

I'm doing my bachelor party in Austin in the fall. Never been either so I can't really help - but I've never heard anyone say a bad word about it. I was going to suggest Austin but I knew it was past a 5 hour drive.

Not sure what you are looking for but Destin, 30-A, Orange Beach, Houston, Nola plus the mountain suggestions above, just to name a few for a weekend trip less than 5 hours away.
