Their FAs and cap management is better than our though. They are willing to wait for value more often than not, rarely signing more expensive players. And they are willing to let players walk when they feel they are demanding too much.
That (and Brady and Belichek and a weak division and cheating) is how they've stayed on top so long.

Like David West taking a $1 MM salary to go play with the Spurs... instead of 10x that anywhere else... they have that FA swag because of Tom and Bill...
has very little to do with the front office. the confidence that office has to let guys walk, partly has to do with players taking less money to play there when the opportunity arises.
That old saying I love, "nothing draws a crowd, like a crowd"
Guys without SB Rings, want to play where they happen...
Once that momentum gets going, it's hard to stop.
More rings than us, but more GATE scandals too... and our QB has stayed spotless through the years. No scandals directly attached to him.
That all said, I've been to a dozen or so NFL stadiums in for games in my life.
That train ride from downtown Boston into Foxboro, and seeing those games outdoors.... that is a special experience. Better than Solider Field. Better than any stadium. Got to see Brady v PManning there, Top 5 football fan experiences of my life.

Yes. The Pats do well in free agency and coaching them up.
Really they have had some really questionable picks at times lately. They aren't exactly above anyone else there. They can afford drafting back in drafts though and acquiring more picks. Sometimes it works and look genius and even when it doesn't work they still find football success.
