I will be flying to Seattle from NOLA on July 13 and returning on July 19. Can you let me know if you see a good deal on a flight. Also considering getting the United Mileage Explorer card for airline points. Would someone let me know if these points are easy to use or do you need to jump through hoops. I have the CSP card so I can use that for SW or United but have never booked a flight before. Thanks for all the knowledge you place on this board.

UA might actually be one of the easiest to book in terms of award availability. No other "hoops" to jump through really when it comes to award booking on US based airlines.
In fact even internationally, the only ones that I can think of that are PIAs are Korean and Thai

It's $306 for a roundtrip on Delta connecting in LAX on the way up/back. That's not bad for mid summer, plus now we're in the best time to book (2-3 months out) Google flights

ETA: It's also $306 on southwest if you prefer them. On the way there leaves late on the 13th, get in after midnight. On the way back, it leaves there at 4pm connecting in Vegas, don't get in until 1:30am. You can also book two one-ways, up there on delta, back on southwest or vice versa
