Headed to Gulf Shores this week (metal detecting related)

have begun dabbling in metal detecting lately and would like to take it with me to play around with. are their any laws/rules i should know about before i bring it on the beach with me?

What are you looking for? Things people dropped or things that have washed in? If the latter, go down to Fort Morgan to find some desolate beach areas.

Dark sunglasses, preferably with wrap around frames so no one can see where your eyes are really directed.
