Getting a used highlander is turning out to be a quest. These things are redic expensive, I mean ~$20k for a 85,000 miles. I haven't bought a car since 2003 so is this the norm? Can anyone refer me to a dealer or website to see how much these things are work (wife wants the leather seat package with really jacks up the price).
TIA
TIA

Toyotas hold their value very well, what years are you looking at? As for websites: CarGuru, Auto Trader, Craigslist, etc will allow to narrow down specifically what you want and give you a good market value and what they go for.

You're gonna pay for a Toyota. They are always priced dead on the money and dealers don't typically budge. I just ran some vins for you.
2014 Limited w/ 50k miles = $34k

We were in the market for an SUV in a similar class a couple of years ago, and the HIghlander market blew me away as well. We drove one and I really liked it, but just couldn't stomach the price for a used vehicle well over 50,000 miles. I know Toyota's have solid engines and it would last, it's just a mental thing I can't get over. Had it been $10,000 less we would have jumped on it.
As it is, we found a Ford Edge, 2 years newer, with ~20,000 less miles, and more features for almost $15,000 less than the Highlander. We've been happy with the choice. There were a ton of well priced Edges on the market when we were looking.
