I don't think a lot of people understand the purpose of this trade. Drafting a QB buys Jeff Fisher and the Rams GM another three or four years. If the Rams are below .500 for the next two years, they have a built-in excuse of starting a young QB in the toughest division in football. This is a brilliant masterstroke by Fisher.

Also if they take Goff they get the California kid that sells a ton more jerseys for the new franchise.

I will laugh if this falls flat for the Rams and the Titans give Fisher a dose of his own medicine and send out all the picks they got from St. Louis for the coin toss

Rams gave up too much IMO. Big win for the Titans. I assume it's for Goff?

You'll get more time if you take a QB 2nd overall than you would if you build your team and find a QB later or in a year or two.

Except for the fact that the Ramsc have done that since the RG3 trade and still have a black hole at the qb position.

Considering what the Rams for from the Skins; thus is not "trade rape." Seems like a correctly balanced trade to get the #1 overall pick. Les Snead is not an idiot. And if it does not work out, he can always become the Auburn AD.

You can't win it all without an excellent QB. You have to do everything you can to find that guy.

I don't have a problem with this.

Per source, the Rams have already conducted on-campus workouts with both Cal QB Jared Goff and North Dakota State QB Carson Wentz

Well that is dumb, especially from a franchise who was the beneficiary of trade rape with the RG3 deal

And what did that get them? If you need a qb, you do what it takes to get one.

As I said in another post, I get it if you're St. Louis or Cleveland, but I still don't like the strategy.

It better not be. Goff is not a winner. I've ever seen a sub .500 qb in college have NFL success. Plus the system he played under in college is laughably simple.

They need to take Wentz is they want to win. Jersey sales are not enough of a reason to make a decision on Goff.

Yeah, well, except the fact that same logic didn't work last year for the Titans. They drafted Mariota #2 (everyone said that would save Wisenhunt's job) and then fired both their HC and GM last season.
