I hadnt noticed this before, but you can see will smiths feet on the ground in the nola.com gallery of the shooting scene. so he was either out of the truck or got out after being shot.

I used to walk home through the bywater at 4am alone on weekends drunk as hell, Off Franklin ave.

amazing that people are talking like NOLA is so dangerous yet I've never been fricked with and I've been blackout drunk in the city my fair share of times. It's not hard to avoid shitty areas or cross the street if it looks like there is trouble ahead
