I probably listened to this album a couple dozen times this weekend. It is simply phenomenal. Not a bad song on it, and the horns and sax add so much depth to some of them. All Around You may be my favorite track, but also love the In Bloom cover.

Hope to get by a record store this week to pick up a vinyl copy.

After listening about 6-7 times now, this is one of my favorite albums ever. It is so damn good.

I think I like metamodern a little more, but I love the new album.

This is great, my favorite so far.

It is a really easy listen, I like the slower stuff and this album is packed with it.

I think I like the first two more just from an individual song standpoint, but this as an entire album is really awesome. Really different than anything else out there.

I've only listened to it one time so far and I'm not impressed. After the first listen I think it's actually horrible and I can't believe everyone is loving it. I'll give it another go because I bought the damn thing and hopefully it will grow on me.

I'm kind of with you. I haven't given it enough listens to really be sure, but I don't think this will top the other two. I really like his cover of In Bloom though. To me, it's like Nirvana meets Pet Sounds. It just has that wall of sound thing going for it. I dig it.

I didn't like it the first listen because I had expectations of a sound similar to Metamodern. It's so different I had to remove my expectations and really listen to it. I then fell in love with it.

Wasn't sure of it at first either. It seriously grows on you. I was thinking oh this is good at first, but it's not Metamodern. Now I've listened to the whole thing around 15-25 times and I think it's easily the best album put out this year

Never would have thought he could put out anything that I liked better than Metamodern. I was wrong....this album is amazing. Love the horns.

Also does anyone have any idea how much this album cost to make? Metamodern was something ridiculously low like $4,500. Talk about a fricking awesome ROI.

I heard on a podcast from the NYtimes that it was double the cost of Metamodern and High Top combined.

They discuss it somewhere in here. It's actually a listen. LINK

But this has a lot more going on it compared to his other work. It still was done at a much cheaper price compared to what a lot of the big names in music cost.

Could be wrong, but I think I remember reading it was somewhere around 100k

Just heard on the podcast it was under 100k. Even if this was done for 100k it would be a hell of a job. ROI will still be huge.

It's the #1 album on iTunes right now. It's getting great reviews as well. 87 on Metacritic right now. Tied with David Bowie for highest rated overall thus far this year.

Hope he reconsiders his decision to only do 5 total albums! 2 more just isn't enough. He's a musical genius.

Entire album done in its entirety live. Best thing I've seen in a long time.
