I have no idea how you can say this

quote:

Passing game will be improved a bit

And also say this...

quote:

Defense will suffer growing pains with the new defensive coordinator

You are blind if you think our defense will have growing pains haha. There is no such thing as growing pains after what we saw last year.

All you guys saying you aren't getting your hopes up are like that girl at the bar complaining about her boyfriend. She talks a good game about being strong and not putting up with his crap, and y'all sound convincing (and miserable) about not buying the hype. But just as sure as she will run to the guy after the booty call text later that night, you all have bought into the hype and will be there come Labor Day weekend EXPECTING to go to the playoffs. Just accept it, embrace it and enjoy it!

Time to collect our spring practice national championship. I'll reserve judgment until November.

I have no idea what you are trying to say because that was a stupid arse analogy haha.

I assure you, I am not miserable in the month of April about a football season that doesn't start until September.

I've been the guy following LSU football all year every year and, as you said, expected them to compete for the National Championship every year... But the last 2-3 years has made me realize its pointless to get hyped up before any real hype is there.

Really the reason for optimism is Bama lost Henry and their QB to the draft, Arky has a new QB and Ole Miss lost their best defender and their all world WR. We return almost everyone on O and Harris is now a junior in a system he's learned for 2 years and has starting experience.

Defensively I know there will be growing pains but Aranda's D should make a big difference in turnovers which we lacked last year and pressure on the QB. We actually will be bigger at LB instead of converting safeties to LBs.

Lastly, we get Bama and Ole Miss at home.

I've been let down before, but I am cautiously optimistic this season. I think this year could be the perfect storm.

Yes, I had the same feeling last spring and I was dead wrong. Don't be too excited about the spring passing game. It doesn't reflect reality. LF carried the ball 2 times in last weeks 100 play spring scrimmage. That's not reality.

Yep! And some of these fans were saying, the line is so good that we don't need a QB. Football IQ!

You take that positive crap out of here right now mister!! Only NegaTigers and MilesHaters are allowed here! We are going to lose every game by a million and how dare you think our young team will improve!

Yea it is crazy how someone can't be slightly optimistic about a season that doesn't start for another 5 months without the negatives coming out to rain on their parade. If the season is going to be as bad as the negatigers think it will be why not at least let us positive guys enjoy the moment now. There will be plenty of time for self loathing and crying in November apparently.

I am glad that you don't have your hopes up and just "expect [LSU] to compete for a National Championship"! ??

I would hate to see your expectations if you bought into the offseason hype!

Guys, its Les Miles, he is a habitual liar, and does it to the fans over and over and purposefully with a bit of glee in his hart. Les, has totally bought into the fantasy of his media character, his grass chewing, gambling man type real coach persona and he really feels like his way in the only way and he despises the fans and their rhetoric. He continually and deliberately lies to the fans at every news conference before and after the games and his favorite is describing exactly what he thinks the fans want here in spring and fall practice and then doing the exact same thing he want to do in the games just to stick right in everyone's faces. Quote after first spring scrimmage "All three quarterbacks passed for over 200 yards", some 600 yards in total, only problem when naming the leading receivers and their catches the total for the entire squad was around 200 yard. You can't believe Les and it would certainly benefit LSU if he were somewhere else, just that simple, he need to move on.

All three quarterbacks then did pass for over 200 yards he just combined their statistics. Take away your hatred of the man as a coach and you can read that quote and the statistics he gave for the receivers that don't includ passes to the running backs and make a logical conclusion that he combined the qb's yards.

I remember before the 2011 season how many articles from LSU reporters were talking about how special that team was. I remember Moffit come out and say he's never seen a team quite like this one.

I haven't heard any talk like that at all yet. Until I do, I'll just be cautiously optimistic.

I very much remember that and remember thinking he was talking to the linemen, not the public. I strongly suspected they were struggling and he wanted to motivate them. but I had no idea they were as bad as they turned out. worst OL I've ever seen at LSU.

coach speak is coach speak. why so many fans hang on every word like it's the gospel befuddles me. and they do it every year.

this is a very incorrect statement, all of it. Les has a big heart (hart to you). as far as his public statements you are stupid if you think other HC's don't make public statements with great care about their ramifications. it is not lying. pre season "stats" are meaningless. THAT MEANS THEY DON'T MEAN DIDDLY SQUAT.

nope. you are obviously hurt and angry but Miles doesn't do this. as far as football goes, he doesn't give a damn what you think. he would think you a buffoon, just like most of us do.

quote:

most football people completely disagree with you. sure, Les has weaknesses; but so do all HC's. by far the biggest problem LSU has is poor QB play. if that gets fixed this year will be a very good year.

Nothing feels different. Les continues to sunshine pump our passing numbers. Still too many unknowns. Wisconsin can't get here soon enough.
