It's got nothing to do with LSU. He just gained more exposure this year and was, for the first time in many years, not playing with a stacked deck. Every team in America that Ben has ever played for was loaded and more talented than 95% of his opponents. It was like Ben playing for the NBA West All Stars against the Philadelphia 76ers.

If Ben's market value took a hit, it's not because of LSU. It's because the entire nation saw his effort on the floor and lack of willingness to compete for victory.

Except opposing coaches will spin it to be about what LSU did or didn't do while Simmons was here

And the flaws in his game were exposed - such as having no offensive game whatsoever outside of 5 feet.

LSU was more talented than 90% of its opponents.
