Ingram looks like Durant. He's always going to be a slight guy.

You linked draft net, which didn't say anywhere that I saw that Ingram was better or would go #1. SBnation, which is a bunch of bloggers. And some dude I have never heard of. Your definition of common opinion really sucks.

except that ingram had higher potential which is what started all of this. do you want me to go link all the places that have ingram #1? because simmons being the #1 pick isnt this lock like it was two months ago

Once he has an actual competent coach help him develop an outside shot he will be capable of playing all 5 positions on the floor.

Why is it that easy to assume he will magically learn to shoot? Deandre Jordan still can't shoot FTs, Howard never learned any post moves, Rondo is stills liability shooting (though he's capable now, but it took what 7 seasons to get to this point?) my point is, Ben may never have a reliable jump shot.

He's still just 19 and has never had to rely on a jump shot in his life because he's always been so much better than everyone he's played against.

You're right, he may never develop a jump shot. I wouldn't bet against it though when he will have elite shooting coaches and more time to dedicate to it.

what? yes he will. he is 6'9, could very well end up at 6'10, with a 7'3 wingspan who can score from anywhere on the floor

so how does he guard 4's and 5s or PG or quick SGs'?

yea, uhhh, he'll never be able to. dude is wing player all the way

fricking KD is at 240 right now. if he can just get to draymonds level of 230 i dont see how he will have too much trouble with his length. ingram seems to be anywhere from the low to high 190s. lets say he enters the draft at 195, i dont think its ridiculous to assume he could gain 30 pounds in an NBA weight program over a span of 5 years

PG or quick SGs'?
because he will be able to combine his length and size with his lateral quickness that he already possesses?

Batum is 6'8" and always had the duty of covering the primary ball handler/PG in Portland.

and even at 240, do you see KD guarding post players or playing in the post? or guarding point guards? no

Draymond is 6'6", 230 on him is not the same on a 6'10" frame. He is much more compact.

and you dont expect him to lose some quickness once he gains weight?

Also Durant was 215 at this point in his development. Last number we had on Ingram was 196 last April. He likely could have added weight at Duke, but is no more than 205 im sure at this point after a long season. Prob closer to 200.

lose some? yes. to the point where he would be a liability? no

kevin durant was a guard in seattle. he moved out to the wing once he put on his weight

im not saying that we can expect to see a lineup where ingram is starting as a guard, or as a 5. but do i think he will have the capability to get matched up at different positions with different players? yep. i think the same of ben as well. its not like lebron plays every single position on the floor at an elite level either. he just plays the match ups. thats what simmons and ingram will be able to do

Definitely. He has the frame of Tayshaun Prince, which isn't a bad thing at all.
