Par 3 course in MS

High School tournament, so no drinks

Almost had a second a week and a half ago.

177 into a 25 mph wind. Knockdown cut 5 iron to about 3 inches. Rolled just left of the cup. Guess I pulled it a little

193yd 7-iron to a back pin. Knew it was close when I hit it, but couldn't see the pin from the tee box. After not seeing my ball upon arriving at the green, I thought maybe I nuked it and hit it off the back side of the green. I was looking for it when my buddy and playing partner saw it in the cup.

Not as awesome as one you can see go in, but I'll take it.

I have one on a short par 3 at great southern golf club in gulfport.

went there because it was close to the condo we stayed at for a buddy's bachelor party.

Four of us went, and the idiot getting married proposed on the way to the course, "lets agree that if anyone hits a hole in one today, the other three owe the person who hits it $200"

of course we all agreed since none of us had ever even witnessed one.

an hour later, I hit the hole in one. They all paid up right there. Luckily everyone had done pretty well at the Beau the night before.

I've played golf for 30+ years and never had one. Then my 8 year old daughter made one in a parent child scramble about six years ago.

I have since made two, but she likes to remind me she was first. Both of mine were on Hole #2 at Calvert Crossing, both with a 7 iron and the yardage was between 155-165 on both.

My daughter has not played since her ace. She went out on a high note!

I have not. Saw one for the first time about 6 months ago, though, so I'll describe that one because it was kind of funny how it happened.

#11 below, blue tees (177), center pin placement. I believe he used his 8 iron.

It had just started raining about 20 minutes before we got to the hole. He hits the shot, looks a little fat and short, but straight. He sighs, bends down to grab his tee and starts walking away. Me and one other guy are the only ones watching (it was 5 of us). I see it hit at the front of the green, take a very friendly skip forward, and then I lose it.

I start saying, "Hey, I think that might have gone in the hole." Of course he and the other guys think I'm messing with him. Even the one that was watching said, "Nah, but I didn't see where it ended up." I tried again. "I'm telling you it took a nice skip forward, rolled and disappeared. You better check the hole when you get up there."

So we get to the green and he starts looking for it everywhere but the hole. I implore him to look and he won't. He tells me to do it (as in "You're not getting me to look in the hole, a-hole, you do it"). So I creep up and lean until I finally see it. I shout and react so he finally came over and looked down and started grinning. Poor bastard didn't even see it happen, but it was still awesome.

he bought us all shots after the round.

I play every weekend, I'm a 4 handicap, and I haven't really even been close. Can't recall any shot on a par 3 inside of a foot.

Club - 8 iron
Hole - #2
Yardage - 138
Where - Summerbrooke in Tallahassee
Drinks - Of course

The hardest part was keeping it together for the rest of the round knowing that the scorecard was going to get framed somewhere. Nobody wants to post a 90 with a hole-in-one. I think I shot 80 that day.

I worked at a golf course while in college. Judging by the bar tab those guys had at the end of their round, I hope I never have one.
