Has anyone had a chance to see one of these ginormous things up close? I know we've all seen Friday Night Lights at stuff but it's not just the stadium...it's the whole campus.... Bigger than some D-3 colleges.
I'm visiting one right now and the weight room is bigger than the one in the LSU football ops.
The real banger? It's a freakin PUBLIC school.

Not 100% positive but I think in Texas, in lieu of state income taxes you pay high property tax which supports public education.

Just to give the other side of the coin, I watched a HS football game in Knox City Texas, where there were no stands at all. People parked around the sides of the field and sat in their vehicles.
ETA: I found a picture. They've added a track and a set of bleachers since last time I was there.

Allen, didn't even make this list. There are some very big stadiums in Texas but the ones with history, are the ones we appreciate the most. The Puncherdome,(my home town) is an intimidating place to play(2A football) as well as the "Graveyard" in San Saba. There have been quite a few strange happenings on that field.

R.R Jones stadium in El Paso.
I had the pleasure of playing there many moons ago.
