That's what I don't get. There is no way LSU makes the tourney next year. Might as well get it over with.

Anyone who thinks Jones is getting fired this year is living in a fantasy world.

How can a team with the #4 recruiting class, #1 player in the NBA draft, along with good role players such as Hornsby, Victor, and Quarterman not make the tourney. But they want to see how he does next year? I mean if he can't accomplish anything with this, he will never get anywhere. I don't see the logic.

This is the problem with this useless administration, there is no frickin accountability. I don't understand the logic behind their decisions.

This is shocking......not.

LSU is in a tough spot. He GREATLY underperformed this year, but he's coming off back to back 11-7 SEC seasons...that's not remotely close enough to getting fired. There is an argument to be made you may have won 3-4 more games with Keith Hornsby and Victor playing, too. It all factors into consideration.

If he can't do it this year he won't next season.

We should hire Jerod haase at uab.

All teams deal with injuries/eligibility issues.

They lost to shitty teams with those guys in the lineup though.

If someone told me on November 6th of last year that the football team would be Texas Bowl bound followed by the NIT in March, I'd have laughed at that person.

its just fricking stupid, we know damn well next year's team isn't making the tournament. So why delay the rebuild any further? I'd much rather the new coach get next season to assess the damage vs. watching a lame duck Johnny squad. But whatever Joe.

He misses the tourney with one star player and sudden its time to move on. People need to wake up. We were headed no where with Johnson. Atleast Jones brought some life back to the club

I'd argue that given the SEC's mediocre landscape this isn't really much to hang your hat on. One could also argue last year's squad also under performed.

Giving Johnny a mandate he has little chance of hitting or he's out is just stupid. End it.

He underachieved last year with 2 NBA players, Quarterman and Hornsby (1st round exit, barely made tournament)

And he underachieved again this year with a #1 overall pick, Blakeney, Quarterman, Hornsby & Victor. Missing the tournament.

To me that's grounds for firing. Next year is going to be a shite show, especially if for whatever reason Quarterman and/or Blakeney leave.

There is nothing "sudden" about the current sentiment towards Jones. Also, not one person in their right mind wanted to keep Johnson. We just think Jones hasn't been the answer.

He essentially killed whatever life he brought to the program.
