You can have the best players all you want but without proper coaching, you aren't going to go far at all.

"This team" has eight losses with lots of basketball to play. I wouldn't be getting too excited about the tournament yet.

I'd take our team, coaching and all, against anyone . . . at about 5:3 odds (or 3:5, I can never remember how that goes; whichever one means we will more likely lose). If everyone is on their game, we are probably close to a 50/50 bet against anyone, but there's not much chance of everyone being on their game at once.

I have a feeling this tourney run could be a whole lot of fun, until it suddenly becomes a whole lot of not.

Coaching no doubt is an issue with this team. They MUST get BS more involved in the OFF, more touches. Often there were opps to get him the ball down low or around the foul line. Then BS has to do his job, and want the ball AND finish with it. Take it to the hoop or hit that mid-range jumper.

Finally Quarterman is a young B Favre. You have to live with both sides. He will make plays, hit shots, play aggressive....and often that aggressiveness leads to turnovers and wild shots. On that last possession we should have gotten a better shot off and within the last 3 mins he threw up too many wild shots on fast breaks. Can't win with those mistakes.

Proud of the way the team played, but you have to finish in CBB, and sadly we still have work to do in that category. GT!

We can hang with anyone until the last minute. That's when our coaching kicks in and allows panic to take over.

We are a below average shooting team at best that doesn't run a consistent offense to make up for the shooting deficiency. In other words, we're 0 for 2 in the shooting and coaching categories.

i have been told by the jonestown cult that #3, #36 and #9 ranked recruiting classes aren't "exactly super dominating" so, lsu doesn't really have top 20 talent. thus, jones is actually doing a great job with the handicap.
