(think La Madeleine style service).
Menu resembles La Madeleine's too.
And are those NYC prices on the menu? You cant eat at a McDonalds in Manhattan for those prices?

Chipotle doesn't franchise so Chic-fil-a would be my choice.

Was thinking about a NEWKS, but they just opened a corporate owned one down the street too.

Why is this thread anchored already? Was the fricking title not long enough?

Probably because the title doesn't even hint as to what the subject of the thread is.

Have no idea at the price point in NYC, have only eaten at Exqis in Paris. It's definitely NOT competing with McDonalds. Local, organic, non-processed are all part of the branding. I was quite impressed with the quality of the food...fresh, lots of big flavors, plenty of veg & grain choices, sides that went beyond the usual lettuce topped w/stuff.

In and Out (especially if I could open one up outside the few states they are in) and watch the money pile up.

In n Out and I'd be in the Portland and Seattle area.
Oregon just got its first restaurant and more will be coming.
The money would roll in. People around have waited a long time.

Fat Head's Brewery & Saloon
Damn. You beat me to it. I don't know why more breweries don't franchise brewpubs. All of the brewpubs I know are better than the Applebees type restaurants that they compete with.
The first Chik-fil-a in the state of Oregon is opening up soon, about 1/2 mile from where I work. The owners live next door to me. The guy started working for Chik-fil-a in Alabama, I think, when he was 16 years old. He's now 26, and set to open his own restaurant in 7 weeks.
I think Chik-fil-a has a low franchise fee, but they don't allow you to open multiple stores, and take a larger share of the profits.
This from the Chik-fil-a site:
quote:
Franchise Opportunities
The Chick-fil-A franchise opportunity represents an exceptional offering in the quick-service restaurant industry. For an initial financial commitment of $10,000 for franchise agreements with an effective date after December 31, 2014, selected franchisees (who we call Operators) are granted the rights necessary to operate a franchised Chick-fil-A Restaurant business. Effective January 1, 2015, each franchised Operator will have the option to transfer his/her rights and interests under the franchise agreement to a business entity formed and organized by the franchised Operator for the purpose of owning and operating his/her franchised Chick-fil-A restaurant business. The Chick-fil-A franchise opportunity requires that the individual be free of any other active business ventures and operate the Restaurant on a full-time, hands-on basis.
Chick-fil-A Operators must successfully complete an extensive, multi-week training program prior to commencing operation of a franchised Chick-fil-A Restaurant business. With additional development courses and franchise support available, Chick-fil-A Operators are equipped to handle decisions and reap the rewards of a challenging business.
I believe that once you get a franchise, Chik-fil-a will buy the land, build the restaurant, and then take 50% of your profits.
