I'm sure the show will settle in because I trust the people involved, but that was not a great pilot. I just never expected it to feel so boring.

I really enjoyed it. I think if you like Scorsese's work, you will like this. It won't be for everybody.

I thought the pilot had several "great" moments, mainly in the form of great editing or cinematography as opposed to acting per se, but can see how people weren't impressed with it overall.

I didn't realize it was 2 hours until I was nearly an hour into it. Like someone said, that length makes it feel more like a movie than a TV show. That is relevant given there wasn't any "resolution" at the end of the pilot, which likely left some feeling oddly unfulfilled given the length (TWSS!).

I thought it was good and really enjoyed all the music. I think Ray Romano is my favorite

Great show. But there was way too much music. I know it's a show but the industry, but they went overboard.

Just getting around to this. If the Gyp Rosetti guy is in it, I am too. I'm about to watch the 1st episode.

I finished the pilot last night. I really enjoyed it. Like a previous poster said I enjoyed the portrayal of real life people. I thought it was great until that final scene. Kind of lost it for me. Every single person dies except for Richie... C'mon man. My only conclusion to that was that he had done so much blow to keep his heart beating. I really hope that the show turns now into more of Richie becoming a druggie and getting the more weird and out there bands. I want to see my acid taking hippies, my cocaine sniffing rock n roll, and the blues man.

There's a link earlier in this thread that details the actual events that happened in 1973. Also, in the end scene, there were lots of people who survived running out of the rubble and what not. I think he goes off the deep end for a bit then has a comeback. So I am sure we will see plenty of the underground drug 70's. Can't wait for his wife to fall off the wagon too

He says during the beginning of the show some of it's exaggerated bullshite based on his drug fried memory.

I am kind of worn out on the anti-hero suffering the crisis of conscience story line

I agree. It had a Mad Men/Don Draper feel to it with the flashbacks and overcoming adversity aspect to it.

Flawed pilot in many ways but it achevied the main goal of getting me interested enough to keep watching

Think they need to scale back the musical interludes between scenes. They lose some authenticity with so many of them
