That's a fair point to be made, but BHM and BET are pretty poor examples to target imo.
BET is a channel that caters to a certain viewer that enjoys that brand of programming. What's the problem?

I agree with her. I don't mind BET at all, and Im not against having it as long as it doesn't promote the "all white SKINNED people are rich and evil" outlook.

Not really. She is't criticizing BET directly, she is criticizing members of the black community for calling for equality in some events, while also maintaining exclusive events for their community.
Basically, she is saying you can't bitch as a group for not getting invited to a certain party, while also hosting a party in which only that group is invited.

I don't see the connection between shutting down BET and improving race relations. It sounds like she threw something on the wall and was hoping it would stick.

But none of that actually happened.
Non black people get awards from black groups all the time, including BET awards.
BET doesn't exclude anyone. You don't have to be black to watch it.

No one was saying you couldn't watch it, but it is called BLACK Entertainment Television for a reason...is it not? What race are they appealing to? Are they writing their shows for a diverse audience?

But what's the problem with that? It's one privately owned and operated channel. Who cares that they cater to a non-diverse audience?

I honestly don't get caught up in all of this race hysteria, but Stacy Dash really is trying too hard now.
Especially when you consider the shows and other events that she has been a part of from BET.
Now personally I hate BET, but they are not exclusively black. Their award shows nominate and award honors to white entertainers, and they cast plenty of whites in their shows.
I'd ne willing to wager it is more diverse than CMT.
The thing about all of this that annoys me the most is that two idiots make an idiotic and unfounded comment and they some how get to represent the whole, which by the way they don't.
I frequent a forum that is vastly black and when the topic was brought up, Jada and Spike were ridiculed pretty harshly.
