When purchasing southwest flights it tells you on the page how many points you will get. $146 flight 736 rewards points. If purchasing with a SW card do ADDITIONALALLY get the 6x or whatever your multiplier is for another 876 points?

You'll get double the purchase price additional points. 146x2 = 292 bonus points.

You'd get 1028 total points. The 736 for the flight and the 292 points for using the Southwest branded CC.

Yes. They're independent of each other. You'd get the points for buying the flight regardless of how you purchased it.

sidebar question: Does anyone know if the miles you accumulate on the southwest card can be transferred to another credit card you intend to switch to... i.e. Chase Southwest Visa -> Chase Sapphire?

You should also get double rewards points if you are unlucky enough to get a flight with the flight attendants who make the flight their own personal "night at the Improv" comedy routine. Just shut the hell up and give me my Sprite and peanuts.
