The O still looked a bit shaky at times, but they seemed to play with more will and rhythm. I think CC on the sidelines is a good move. He also acts as an enforcer.
Do you hear me, Les?

You're not the only one.

Should we just replace our quarterback every year
Alabama does...and they win.

What's wrong with Harris? Really asking
He has only a small subset of the skills needed as a passer and decision-maker. He can throw the long ball and the fade, and everything else is very questionable - most of the time. He is off-target a lot on intermediate passes, either overthrowing or throwing it in the ground. Despite a lot of work on his footwork, he has not shown the capability to translate the training to the game. He does not have touch on the short passes, save an occasional pass here and there. His development, with lots of work by George Whitfield and with the LSU staff, has been very very little. He seems to be a poor learner and adapter to coaching. That is the problem with Harris. He has a strong as hell arm, and gives a great and confident interview, but there is not a lot of reason to believe he will improve, other than "just because" he will be one year older.

Cam has had health problems too recently. I think that played a part in him being in the booth. He'll be on the sidelines next year though, and I think that's a good thing.

6'
6-5
6-10
Wtf does it matter?
I really hope some of you aren't this naive.
The amazing thing is that LSU is able to land wrs like this despite not having the capabilities of consistently getting them the football.
I say we lay off the 6-5 200 lb receivers and focus on the 6-5 300 DL.
Ask Alabama how that works out.

If they can't run a fly route or block they won't help much. Our QB play is some of the worst in all of college football and the stats prove it. WR's aren't that valuable in a miles offense at LSU.

Harris showed actual touch on a few passes in bowl game. Needs to get more consistent. Also has to get off first read and take what D gives him. Needs to stop being scared of getting hit.

Harris's only problem is Miles only playing him for one game last year. That put him in the exact same boat as Jennings that year, coming in and starting with virtually no game experience. He'll be fine next year, and really good the following year. I just hope the OLine turnover is low, or due to younger guys passing the older ones.

Early in the season I posted that I think he needs to be on the sideline. Young players need their coach support them on the sideline. Les was trying to do that for the defense and offense. Even a coach gets a better feel for a game when he's on the field. I remember a play when cam thought LF7 was in the game, called the wildcat, and LF7 is staring up at the booth like do you know I'm on the sideline.

Yeah but notice they aren't putting in freshmen and sophomores. They're playing seniors and juniors

Do not forget Dillon Day.

On the last TD, Cam sent out heavy with Guice. Les called TO, had a play sheet in his hands and sent out heavy with Williams. I said to my son that Les will get Williams a TD so he doesn't transfer. Boom Williams TD and he was so happy. Good coaching right there
Ain't no way Les thinks that far ahead. He was probably still pondering why UFOs were flying on the field.

Jezz man, the kid is a true sophomore
Yeah, and next year he'll be a true junior with poor accuracy. When will the excuses stop? Look around college football. There are a ton of true freshman and true sophs with much better accuracy. Either you have it or you don't. Age should not be an excuse.

quote:Harris is slow to make decisions, has a slow trigger and telegraphs where the ball will go. He should run more too. He does have a big arm and seems to be a good kid. I'm pulling for him, but with college football becoming more QB-centric, Harris must improve dramatically for LSU to have a shot at an NC again.

How tall is Coxie? I'm thinking he could be a vertical threat as well
