Feliciana, any rut activity yet? I hunt near Crosby and am just starting to see some scrapes being worked

A week ago Monday I had a decent buck come by chasing a doe and grunting. She lost him and snuck off and he stayed in the thicket searching. I never got a shot

Had a doe come trotting by about 7:30 right under my stand. A rack buck was behind her about 100 yards and 40 yards in the pines trailing her. Never had a clear view of he was a shooter.

That's twice now a doe has lead a buck straight to me and the buck didn't take the bait. The doe this morning stopped right under me looked up as if to say " Hey! Get this a-hole off my tail" then she trotted off.

Congrats man.

I just had a squirrel try to get in my box stand with me. Had my ear buds in so I didn't hear him coming. Scared shitless.

The guy across the creek from me had a hell of a hunt. Shot at daylight then just shot 9 more times. 4 shots from a big gun and 5 from a pistol. There were pigs squealing everywhere. Guess my hunts over. He must have found more ammo. 2 more shots from a big gun

The guy I'm hunting with up towards you sent me a few pictures of the known shooters on the property out of the sanctuary and moving around. Still dark, but closer to daylight than midnight.

Hope I can catch one slipping this weekend.

I doubt any here go to the poli board but if so don't take the bait.

For the record I am a staunch supporter of full enforcement of the existing firearms laws with retention of the full penalties where appropriately applied.

Ground blind with my boy (7). Boredom/hunger set in. Now at the camp killing cans with a red Ryder and wading in mud holes just over our/his boots.
Which is standard operating procedure.

Decided to make a late morning hunt today. Got in stand around 930. At 10 I had 2 does and 2 yearlings come out and feed less than 20 yards from my box blind. Blind is only a foot or two off the ground so it's been an intense last 20 minutes watching them feed so close
