Ok my vehicle was leaking oil and struts needed replaced. So I took my car to a mechanic and told him to fix it. He says the valve cover gaskets needed replaced as well as the struts. So 2 days later car is ready. Pick itt up and next morning I see oil in my driveway where my car was parked. Called mechanic, tell him still have oil leak and car is missing real bad. Drop car off, almost 2 weeks later car is ready. Says had a bad coil pack and valve cover curled on him when he installed gasket. No charge on gasket pay for coil pack. Next morning damn oil on driveway again. Call mechanic tell him oil leak still happening and still missing real bad. Drop car off again. Damn near 2 1/2 weeks later car ready. Mechanic says had to much oil was why was leaking( called bullshite) but as long as it wasn't leaking leaking fine. Says he swapped coil packs from other coil pack on car. I know didn't get that either. Well next morning damn oil again in driveway and still missing. Told mechanic needed fixed asap going out of town next week. Car still not ready after a week. I am done with this dude going to get my car Monday and carry it to someone else. So is their anything I can do to get my money back from this a-hole. We are talking around 1k I've spent but 600 was on labor and parts for valve cover gasket replaced. Parts was lil over 150$ which I dont have problem paying for but his labor I want back he didn't fix my problem so I'm pissed. He was quick to fix and slow to get back after I paid him.

Torture his wife and kids in front of him until he gives you a refund. Other than that, you're fricked.

Give him another shot. Let him keep it a couple weeks. Everyone gets a fresh start on January 1. If it still isn't fixed ask if he knows any good mechanics.

Sometimes you just have to nut up and call people on their bullshite. If he isn't screwing you then he's just bad at his job. Regardless you need to learn when to move on from dumbassery

1) take the car to another shop
2) if the new shop fixes problem, submit bill to shop #1
3) if he refuses to pay, share with him the bad reviews you will be posting
4) if that doesn't do the trick, file with the BBB for resolution

Seriously, you need to bring it to someone else. If you're around Baton Rouge I'd take it to AGCO. (225) 291-6900

As far as getting your money back. First, ask him for a refund after you get it repaired. Tell him how he misdiagnosed the problem and how you didn't get the repairs you paid for. If he will not comply, file a report to the BBB. See if they can help you resolve the matter. Last resort might be small claims court.

I would never leave my vehicle at a mechanic that takes over a week to fix something each time.

How did you pick this particular mechanic in the first place? Have you dealt with him before?

you can hook it up to a computer at Autozone for free that will tell you what coil pack is bad.

I can't believe he didn't make it a priority after you returned it the first time. No job he did was more than a couple of hours work.

He is screwing you over.

Valve covers are an easy job. You could probably do them yourself.

WOW, did you take your Murano to some jake-leg mechanic?

BTW, how many miles and what year is this vehicle?

Sounds like you took your vehicle to some yahoo that doesn't know much about mechanicing.

Take this as a lesson learned, go to a reputable shop.
