He is the best player in the country. What about his contributions to the passing game? And Fournette and Brandon Harris have big hearts and have acted unselfishly off the field as well, kind of a commodity in college football nowadays.

and will it be a big deal next year, if LF7 wins it? Of course it will, because you will have to have it both ways.

I guess they did not take into consideration what LF was doing in all other games when the entire planet knew he was getting the ball.

I'm sure they did but this award is "what have you done for me lately" and all of LFs earlier accomplishments were wiped clean by the three losses. I'm not saying I agree with it but if you listen to sports radio, tv, etc. this is exactly what happened.

The narrative was that LF couldn't do it against really good competition so that lessened his earlier accomplishments. As someone else said, one stumble and it's over. IF, after Bama, LF had gotten monster yards the rest of the season then maybe he had a chance but he didn't so end of story.

Its funny you mention bad ol play and bad coaching...but didn't even mention the main thing...poor qb play

Well you can throw that in too but I mentioned OL and play calling because the OL didn't give BH time and the play calling didn't help him much. As has been said here many times before, too many low percentage, downfield throws didn't help BH either.

Once again the Heisman proves to be a farce. It is not for the best player, it is for a good player on a great team. SO by the media standards, Fournette who was clearly the best player most of the year is not in the top 5 players in the nation? Its a joke really.

It's really for the best RB or QB on a top team and this year there was a dearth of star players and especially star QBs. This was the most forgettable Heisman field I've ever seen and the winner was only the third best RB in the SEC when Chubb was healthy.

Actually, no. I guess for LF it would be good, but other than that, I don't care who wins it. It's not what it once was. It's almost become the "getting bowl eligible" of trophies. It doesn't mean much.

This argument is really played out and incorrect....

A&M was 11-2 (3rd in the west) in 2012 with Manziel
Baylor was 10-3 (3rd in the Big 12) in 2011 with Griffin
Florida was 9-3 (3rd in East) in 2008 with Tebow

In Heisman voting. Dude will be pissed from here on out, definitely on a mission

Fournette should be pissed. Pissed at the LSU fans for completely taking him out of the headlines with the stupid attempt to get rid of Les Miles.

This. This is all you need to think about really. I am not sure Henry is even the best player on his team. In my opinion, Coker made the offense go.

Fournette got more yards called back than that Bama dude going forward.

Not to mention that while all America watched, Henry gashed us for 210 yard and 3 touchdowns and LF7 had 31 yards on 19 carries.

Hard to overcome a side by side comparison like that.

it's crazy. the guy who was rated the best by many the majority of the year.. doesn't even finish 5th. wtf.

It's not crazy. LSU lost 3 straight games where the offensive play calling didn't amount to jack shite. The OL didn't help much those games either.

What about all the short passes where he was horribly inaccurate and even when they make a catch its generally reaching way behind to make the grab and getting lit up or having to go up a couple feet off the ground and really getting lit up...people talk about throwing it deep so much...hell...he can't complete short to intermediate passes. If anything the playcslling protected him from interceptions and kept most of our recs from being hurt. Which game was it where he got dural knocked out and lf and MD hurt due to poor passes...om I think

Lol...again no mention of horrible qb play....because of course its not brandons fault he can't accurately throw a 10 yard pass to a wide open rec...he just hasn't been coached up that's all...you guys.....

LF is still the best football player in the country. The award sucks, because u have to play for a top team or u don't have chance! & GEAUX LF.

It was the Bama, Ark, and Ole Piss game combined. The Bama game wouldn't have been a big deal if he rushed for over 150 yds in the last 3 games, but he didn't. Also, he only had 4 TDs in his last 5 games.

Herschel Walker and Bo Jackson both had <50 yd rush games their Heisman years.
