It's looking like work is going to eventually bring us to the Crowley area. If so, ND will be where I'll be sending my kids to school being that's it's the only catholic school in the area. Any alumni on this board? Pros and cons? I'm more concerned about the academics and over all experience. I know that they have excellent athletics but that's about it.

If your son goes there, he'll be held back a year and bulked up for football

They have had a good soccer team as well. Always play very physical and with some skill.

Jimbeam, as of now idt that'll be needed. He's already twice the size of most of the kids his age and solid as a rock

Both of my kids graduated from there. Both got a good education. Daughter played some sports and did fine. Son didn't play sports and didn't enjoy it so much. Some of the extracurricular academic experiences may not be as broad as some schools but definitely not lacking enough to steer anyone away.

Administration is really good. Principal is a great lady. School administrator (Lewis Cook) is also the head football coach and is a good guy..

I think it's a good school for a good academic experience. Absolutely better than the alternative in town.

I teach in the area. ND is a good school.
My advice: Don't live in Crowley. There are several communities in the area from which you could/should commute.

Well Yfin I work in and around the Broussrd area. The wife's job brings her to Jennings everyday. My fuel and expenses are covered and I just wouldn't make it in Laf so Crowley seems to be the happy median.

Thanks for the input. I'm like most, just looking to give my kids the best opportunity to succeed.

Out of all the options in that area (Crowley High, Notre Dame, St. Eds), it's one of the better ones.

Iota isn't that far of a drive and for the money has a decent catholic curriculum.

Agreed. Also avoid Rayne, Jennings, and Eunice.

If you've got the money, highway 13 between crowley and eunice has some nice little communities. Richard being one of them.

well Jbeam, I see the specs and combines so I'm thinking your just north of I10. I've met a few folks from the area that my wife works with and seems to be a Great bunch. As long as I can drink whiskey and shoot supper I'll be alright
