Do they run the 25 cent martini special at dinner? I trying to see if Commander's will fit within a business meeting budget for some people coming from out of town.

The group has a $100 budget per person.

the thought that they have to drink is pretty sad

I would be aggravated if I went out to a dinner on the company's tab and there wasn't a little drinking involved

Just call and ask what they have that would work with your budget. Restaurants get calls like that all the time.

I wouldn't want to go to a business dinner and be forced to drink 25 cent martinis so we could stay within budget. Why not go and pay for the booze on a separate tab??

They do not offer 25c martinis at dinner. Lunch M-F only. Also they instituted a limit on martinis after my date and I consumed a combined 21 at lunch back in '04.

I've always known the martini special to be a lunch thing. As posted, just put the booze on a separate tab or tell your waiter whats going on.
They can run 2 tickets for you. When you reach your limit, the second tab will kick in. Commander's is very accommodating in my experience.

That's what I'm going to tell them to do. We got bought out by another company recently so no one knows how strict the new company policy is on meal budgets. We used to get $150 per person for dinner, which was awesome

Damn, y'all hiring?
We had a similar situation with a table of 10. When we hit the limit, they ran a second tab for us. The limit per person got expensed, and we paid for the rest. Y'all have fun.

You gonna need to make up some extra attendees......not that I would do it

This kind of plan always sounds reasonable for people from the South/people that enjoy eating. Just wait, there will be one Yankee or old cranky frick in the group that will throw a ratchet when they find out they have to come out of pocket $15. This happens every time I try to set something up like this on a company tab. I have just resigned myself to it and shame them by covering their amount for them. Amazing thing is that 90% of the time the cheap asses accept my offer to cover their portion.

My family always gets those, but I get the Sazerac at Commander's it's excellent.
You could do one drink each and get out for less than $100pp. No dessert. I would instead bring them to Cafe Adelaide. It has the soups and some dishes from Commander's, it's cheaper, located on Poydras so probably closer to the hotels they are staying at, it's never really crowded and they have great prices on drinks.
