At those prices, it's not as much about the education as it is about the high society types you're sending your kid to school with. Yes, the grades areally probably better, the facilities are probably better, and the percentage of kids going to "good" schools is higher. But not that much higher than say Jesuit for it to be necessary to drop that coin.

I hear that all the time. I went to lsu and knew way more than 99 percent of my high school friends that went to more prestigious colleges (several ivy league, rhodes, trinity, centenary, tulane, ect). Based off science fields (b.s. Chem here).

The classes that were offered at lsu, being a university, wasnt even comparable to those fancy private schools.

If you go to a great private school you're probably going to have a free ride to LSU so you get a return on your investment by not having to pay for college.
