That was some bull shite. They deserve to die, because obviously they've learned nothing since the ZA began.
I thought you weren't watching anymore.

I'm not a big complainer with these series and am cool suspending disbelief and not nitpicking, but yeah, damn, it's getting unwatchable when nearly even key decision made is arse backwards wrong and stupid.
Honestly it feels like watching LSUs offense for the last half of this season, playcalling wise (except for LF, Guice, and a few others).

I have never read a single page of the comics, but I have put compendiums 1-3 on my Amazon wish list for Christmas. I am crossing over. Haven't posted a ton in these threads, but just wanted to say Godspeed to you all.

To me, the draw of the show is watching how the move to different strongholds and fortify them/figure out the weaknesses.
I'll admit I have no idea what else they can do in the middle of a ZA, but it would be nice to see a major wrinkle thrown into the show at some point.

This last episode just pissed me off. You have thousands of zombies at the wall and they did nothing. They could have set them on fire or used water cannons (like on the fire truck) or dumped tons of corrosives/acids down on top of them or any numbers of other methods to weaken the herd down to nothing. Then once the wall is broke, they run and hide in the houses? They should have had platforms or just got up on roofs and started wiping the dead out. All you need is height and a spear or something to poke them in the head. It's not that hard.
The show should be focusing on other survivors as the danger. The dead should just be a nuisance at this time. They could have destroyed the herd at the quarry. It was a waste of a season. I'll keep watching, but it just kind of doesn't make any sense anymore..

doesn't kill them, as evidenced by the multiple burnt walkers we've seen.

And where do you think they are going to get millions of gallons of water from? Or a firetruck? I would guess water would be at a premium and would not be used to blast walkers back.

Um, it has. Did you miss half of this season? The wolves have been the big danger to the group for a while. The people at terminus before that, and the governor before that. Not to mention, the preview for the next half of the season shows another group of survivors that will probably have run ins with the group as well.

Wrong. Fire destroys everything. They were just walking through the woods and there were burnt walkers everywhere. Set a fire line and light them up. Maybe it wouldn't kill them immediately. But it would over take them over time. The walkers were banging on the wall for over a day..

There is a pond on the property. It could be drawn from a local creek or lake. There would be tons of abandoned fire stations with trucks. A stretch, sure, but it did show how pliable and weak the walkers are by this time.

The one thing that wouldn't have been pilfered from hardware stores or any industrial setting would have been solvents, chemicals and acids. It would be available by the barrel and has a very long shelf life. Tons of combinations that would strip the skin and outer layers off the dead. They can't last long with out skin. They would succumb to the elements..
I know they have shown other groups. But the dead shouldn't be a factor anymore. By this time, groups would have eliminated the huge herds they come into contact with. They are too easy to kill. Having them as the main obstacle is just lazy and unrealistic at this point. I'm not attacking the theme or the show as a whole. This is just a dumb storyline..

You're wrong, it doesn't kill them, but ill play along. How are you going to set them on fire? Let me guess, pour diesel on them?

Do you know how much water moves through a fire hose running wide open? That pond would be drained in minutes.

I do agree with you that they are should've been more prepared but disagree about how they should combat the walkers. They should've reinforced the walls better (before this hoard of walkers even arrived) and the crumbling church should've been taken down a while back.
That being said the Alexadrians are stupid and that seems to be rubbing off on Rick and co.

Of course it kills them. They burn. The ones you are talking about were superficially burned. Even those will die off, in time. Just speaking in this world or universe, fire destroys them very slowly. But I am talking about constant fire. This shouldn't even be a debate. Fire, hot enough, will burn everything down to the dirt or rock. No human or zombie could be immune to that.
As far as what they burn them with, there are dozens (hundreds?) of flammable liquids. Even if they didn't set some kind of fire line, dumping those liquids on them would have been a good start. Or making Molotov cocktails and raining them down on the herd. One trip to an auto store and you have tons of oil, grease, by-products, etc to make something. Once again, not that hard..

I don't want to beleaguer this point, as it was really to point out how weak the walkers were that it just took jetted water to kill them. But you drive the truck to the water source and fill them up. Or you put a larger reservoir on the property. You would get about 3-4 minutes with a full truck of water (I just googled it). You put 3-4 trucks in position and you can radically thin the herd. Or put them behind the walls and use it as a 2nd or 3rd line of defense.
As far as stations. I live in southeast Texas. There are 12 fire stations within 90 square miles (I just googled that too) of me. So finding abandoned trucks shouldn't be that hard either.

How did Deanna firing the gun at the zombies not distract and draw the walkers just wandering around outside? This should have helped Rick and crew with a diversion, but I guess they pretended it didn't happen?

Idk but that was pretty selfish of her to keep the gun. Especially with the whole town overrun there is no guarantee they will ever be able to recover everything stored in the armory

This is a couple of seasons in a row where the start of the season was really good, but they just couldn't maintain momentum. I think the only season that was really good from start to finish was the first one, and that was only six or eight episodes.
It is really annoying to watch people make such bad decisions over and over. A few pointers:
1. Kill zombies as soon as you see them so they don't get you later.
2. Kill people who have threatened and/or killed your people.
3. Don't stop your vehicle for a few morons in the middle of the road just begging to get run over.
4. Don't give up your weapons.

Finally got around to watching the last two episodes
1. Glenn is alive, knew it would be that way, and he survived the way I predicted
2. The finale sucked eggs, horrible and dumb choices everywhere
3. How did Maggie know green balloons meant it was Glenn?

Bump, just binged in preparation of the last half of the season.
Damn y'all are some nitpicky fickle mofos just enjoy the show.
Some stupid moments? Yes. But it didn't draw away from my enjoyment.
The show is pretty much predicated on making tough decidions and the consequences of those choices.
