Just read this USA Today article blasting us for the treatment of a legendary coach. Mostly for shamefully letting him twist in the wind.

ESPN is blasting us mercilessly. Yahoo, Fox Sports, anybody with a microphone or an Internet outlet is killing us.

I'm embarrassed. The more this goes on, I think it's time to take this to Alleva's door. He doesn't appear to have our best interests at heart. I think what has been holding us back more than anything Les did is Joe's treatment of Chief, his inability financially support and manage coordinator hires, and his lack of foresight to how doing what he's doing right now would play out.

I'm pretty disappointed in him. It's starting to look to me that we could go a lot farther with a less shitty AD.

You're foolish if you think Alleva is anything more than a figure head. Some big money boosters are behind all of this and Alleva is following suit. It'll all be over in a couple days.

Bama took a huge hit when they fired Mike Shula, the favorite son so to speak. That did not last long. This too shall pass.

Les is at fault as well. He could comment that his focus is on the next game and will address the rumors at the end of the season.
If LSU fires Les he has played the sympathy card to perfection. He will be in prime position to land another top coaching gig.

They are all just protecting their jobs. Les provides an instant story each week. Tons of talent but can't win big games, then says something ignorant as hell. It's an easy headline for them, so of course they want him to stay.

has no-one nationally watched the last three games?

I understand what they are saying, but it is time to move on.

We should just abandon the brand then. Maybe we could buy a different brand name? Tulane?

As it should. Very callous way to handle such a situation.

And every one of them are 100% correct! Lsu, boosters and Aleva hung Les out to dry....after 11 years, you would think they could have shown a little more respect for the man! Say something, anything, lie whatever...but to just remain quiet and let the rumor mill and media run with a story was wrong....

Les was the only professional in this whole debacle

It seems to me that his treatment of chief was part of his plan to get rid of Miles.

This situation is getting worse and worse daily. I kind of wish we knew exactly what was going on.

Sooo...the ONLY ones talking about the situation, thus twisting Les in the wind, is the MEDIA. Then the MEDIA blasts "us" [sic] for doing it. Silliness

quote:

I think it's time to take this to Alleva's door.

How, do you propose this get "taken to Alleva's door"? Do WE appoint a poster to write a note and tack it to the door frame? What are WE to do to accomplish this task?

quote:

He doesn't appear to have our best interests at heart.

How did you arrive at THIS conclusion? Using the same logic as above? Yeeeesh

quote:

I think what has been holding us back more than anything Les did is Joe's treatment of Chief, his inability financially support and manage coordinator hires, and his lack of foresight to how doing what he's doing right now would play out.

wow...just, wow

"WE" have another 48 hours or so for this to play out. Welcome to the internet age where rumor and conjecture is spread like a plaque.

The same MEDIA that excoriates "us" [sic] is the ONLY voices yapping about the "terrible treatment". Otherwise, there is no "treatment" at all going on. Les is being paid his full salary, he is doing his job, LSU will wait for a season to conclude, and LSU will make a decision without giving a sick rat's arse about what the nattering nabobs on ESPN, et al, think or want.

THAT is precisely what the AD and BoS should do in order to look after LSU's interests

It's always easy to feel sorry for someone that is mentally challenged. But ironically it's the same people that made fun of his antics on a weekly basis.

Why didn't the media bash Miami when they dumped Coker? He brought them a national championship and had 5 consecutive years where he had 3 losses or less.

What has miles done since 2012?

Saban to Bama seems to have worked out despite all the negative press that got.
