Yeti has the best looking stickers so Yeti is the best cooler. Why would anyone consider any of the other brands?

Yeah, we get it, people put Yeti stickers on their trucks.

I've got like 10 stuck in a folder somewhere. (from cups, coolers, etc)
They used to give you a hat, too,
The only stickers that go my cars are numbers.

I have that exact Igloo Marine icechest in the video posted earlier in the thread. Of course it doesn't hold ice as long as the Yetis, but it was a quarter of the price.
I will say this, those Yeti cups are 100% legit.

Definitely. My cup keeps ice for a full 8 hour work day even when I'm constantly refilling.

I'll mostly use this for tailgating, barbecuing (legit all day bbq, not grilling burgers), camping, road trips. shite will be set on top of it, people will probably sit on it, my dog will try to kill it once or twice and I want to own this cooler forever.
One 300-400 dollar purchase makes more sense to me than buying a $40 cooler every couple of years.

It won't matter to most people, but they straight up copied YETI.
They out-Chinesed the Chinese. I have no respect for them, so I wouldn't own one.
Fair enough, I have no issue with all out capitalism and a complete dislike of the current patent program. I will buy anything that is made at a better quality at a much cheaper price when it comes to China made stuff.
I wouldn't mind an Orion to go with my Jackson Kayak, but just too pricey for me for a cooler. I will pay more for American made stuff.

Made in China is fine.
Chinese though, have a long history of stealing and copying designs. It is how their country functions and they don't have any respect for patents.
I hate to see an American company doing the same thing.

my friend has a K2 and is trying to sell it so he can get a Yeti. He says the K2 works okay but the yeti keeps things cool for longer.

How do you define "best"?
Best IMO, is a cooler that can sit in the Louisiana sun in late July and not have watery slush that evening. If one of the expensive brands can do that and roll...I'd buy one.

Copying and refining is necessary in capitalism. This protection for 20 years is garbage and restricts innovation. 5 years would be better then that design is far game.

What is best for one person my not meet the requirements of another. Most guides I've worked with used yeti but that doesn't mean it is better. It probably has more to do with good deals for people who hold guide/charter permits and being moderately priced.
I think the reason you see a lot of Yeti coolers is because they are middle of the road price wise and are pretty damn sturdy. You can buy them just about anywhere unlike some of the higher end coolers.

It looks directly copied to me.
There's a lawsuit now. Let's see how it plays out.

It's pretty much a carbon copy cosmetically that's for sure. RTIC went a little more robust where it could, more insulation/etc. They actually sized their coolers to the number as well, so they are bigger. A 45 is a 45, not a 41 like Yeti. This is one case where the carbon copy appears to be better/more robust than the original.

I have a Yeti and a Coleman Extreme. The Coleman gets used 90% of the time because of the weight issue. The Yeti is a real handful when filled with beer and ice.
