Katy people... Another Mexican place, but a known commodity.

El Tiempo is adding a location in Katy. Everclear Margaritas anyone? Or is that a "Houston urban myth"?

Last meal there was pretty damned good I recall, but I had 3 of their sketchy ritas. I could barely feel my face.

The location is the now closed Los Trios on Kingsland. This is a good location and they sank some $$$ into the patio about 2 name changes ago. Hopefully El Tiempo is a good enough name to keep the location open?

I'm pumped. I find the dining choices in Katy are weak.

Are you here now? Or speaking from old experience? Either way, the ten years I've been here it has exploded.

When we moved here we were ECSTATIC to get a Panera Bread.

Pretty cool place. Especially for Katy.

You've been through one crawfish season here.

Advice is do not underestimate Asians in the crawfish game. They know their way around mud bugs and a rice pot too.

I have 3 El Tiempo's within 5 minutes from my house and all seem to be packed every night of the week. I'm sure they'll kill it out in Katy.

They had bought, and started renovating, an old restaurant building right off of Gulf Freeway in Clear Lake. Probably started the project at the beginning of 2014, and had a sign with "El Tiempo Cantina Coming Spring 2015". The wife and I were like

Financing must have fell through towards the end of the project b/c the building has been almost finished since Spring and the El Tiempo sign is covered now. So sad.

I was wondering what happened to that place. Every time we pass it on 45 we are saddened.

The sign was like a giant tease. Wouldn't have cared if I didn't know who it COULD have been.

Clear Lake. You guys have enough. Let us have a crumb. You are the wing and boob joint capital. You got hooters, twin peaks, brick house, and bone daddy's (that is BBQ with a boob theme right?). Then you have all the seafood joints. Let me have my El Tiempo.

The blue margaritas at el patio (RIP) would knock you on your arse. Lots of hazy moments thanks to those things.

Could be urban myth?

I just know the 2-3 times I've tangled with them, I lose.
