I just don't see it. I think Cam is back next year and I think that's a good thing.

Unless they told him to back off and let him do his job it doesn't matter who is hired.

so, the rant wants cam out and to hire a new oc for a potential lamd duck hc. then, change up the entire offense and thereby start harris all over in his development. brilliant.

We need to make a move on Tyson Helton the guy from WKU. He is real, real good.
I've often thought about WKU personnel myself... but going little further back (pre-Petrino).

I've always like Willie Taggart (former HC, OC, WRs, & QBs ) as a potential "up & comer". And his former OC at WKU, Zach Azzani (current: UTn Passing Coord), has some experience too.

Some of those offenses Taggart/Azzani had were pretty good, and they weren't just pass happy dink and dunk. Not pro-style really, but did a little bit of everything pretty good.

That's kind of my take...but the chatter has me thinking that, while what you posted above is logical, something is amiss. Seeing Franks waver is a big indicator to me.

Well, I'm not sure that LSU wouldn't offer Cameron his same pay for an additional season, but based on the way they handled the hiring of Steele, I would expect something similar.

I think Steele makes about two-thirds of what we were paying Chavis. Steele wasn't the best candidate interviewed, IMO, but he was one willing to accept some pretty precarious conditions. I don't think it's a stretch to assume that administration limited Miles' options in that situation, so I feel the same will apply here, if not even under more limitations than before.

If some things I've heard are accurate, Cam actually has a better relationship w administration than Miles. I feel as though they have identified the problem, and everything from here on out will be done to solve it in the best way for the program long term, financially and otherwise. A line in the sand has been drawn.

There are some dumb asses on this board that wanted Cameron to replace Miles when he retired. I live in Miami, Careron lasted one year as the Dolphin coach. Cam is gone at the end of the year. Bye Cam

Considering the situation with Miles looking vulnerable, and the need to try and stabilize recruiting with Cam and Peveto likely both leaving, promoting Frank to OC seems like the easiest thing to do. If Miles does stay another year, keeping him here and happy is a good decision. There is certainly some risk since he has never been a coordinator, but I think it may be worth it.

We might need to supplement him with a guy who could coach QBs and help out implementing a system, but it would be easier to bring in a younger guy as a position coach, than go shopping for an experienced OC the way things are right now.

If true, the TAF people are idiots. The problem is NOT the OC.

I think that's fairly obvious at this point.

With the exception of the NFL offense in '13, LSU's offense has been terrible since 2009. The only consistent is Les Miles.

If Miles survives this season, he'll still have the TAF / AD 'urging' him to give up a considerable amount of control on offense

There is one thing that makes me wonder about Miles character at times. He is always thought to be a great man by everyone myself included but situations like this always seem to cast a shadow of doubt on that. There have been a few coordinators come through under Miles and largely the offense remains the same yet these guys constantly get offered up as the sacrificial lamb to buy him more time. If he truly is holding back the offense then why are all of these guys paying for his stubbornness? This time the coordinator is a good friend of his and looks to be the next one hung out to dry. I'm not saying he's a bad guy but why doesn't he step up and take responsibility for his role in stifling the offense. Seems like sooner or later he might have trouble finding a guy to take the job knowing he's a lame duck and a sacrificial lamb from the get go.

It takes brains(joke)to recruit a dual threat QB for a pro style offense.Just joking but we might have a better chance with LF at QB and Guice at tailback. Hell I think LF could throw a mid ranged pass. BH has chicken chit in his blood, he gets nervous and lays the big ole egg.
No lines to read between. Les is the one who get canned

What about an OC that doesnt give a shite and wants the opportunity to coach some of the most talented players in the country for a year...plus not all OC's make what we pay them... I could find a dII OC that would put up gawdy numbers at a pay raise from his last school to take a shot in the SEC and boost his credibility for one year..

it don't work like that. never has and never will. Les has blown his wad with Cameron, and Steele, now he's just fricked.

If our QB recruit is wavering, there could be a number of reasons. Cameron as OC in question, Les Miles' future at LSU also in question, other programs applying a lot of pressure, etc. It happens every year at all schools. Most players are mercenaries trying to get the best deal available.

I said Saturday night I wish we could have that guy. Can't see how we could though in the messed up situation this is.

He also said Bielema has trusted him to run the offense without micromanaging, another benefit of their similar belief in offensive philosophy.
“I just try to handle our offense similarly to how I handled our team (at Central Michigan),” Enos said. “(Bielema) told me when he hired me, ‘You’re the head coach of the offense.’ So it’s been a very smooth transition that way.”

First off, the only place I read that Les Miles is controlling the offense is on TD. Please correct me and link some actual articles or videos if I am wrong but I have not heard any past OC complain about Les being a control freak. I think Les is a good person and a great recruiter but let's be honest, he isn't the sharpest tool in the shed so I think he would let his OC and DC do their jobs unless he sees something they don't on a certain play.

I am getting sick of our inept offense and its inability to adjust our game plan of the team on the other side of the ball. Based on the Arkansas game, I saw the same crap play calling that put LSU in a pass only catch-up offense. Time management was horrible to get the plays to Brandon Harris. I think any decent OC and HC would implement the flash card system like most college teams have today. I don't see why Miles would object to the flash card system so I am not sure why Cameron has not implemented that which to me is a sign of an OC that is not with the times.
