It does two things, your not paying that much money to Cameron who hasn't earned it, nothing will change though because it's Miles offense.
It pisses Miles off he has to can his buddy or not renew his buddy just like Alleva did with Chavis last year.
It means Franks will not come to LSU either.

I agree that you will not find a good OC for a 1 year deal. You either some how get Cam to stay for a year or Les and him go.

But does he have the balls to repeatedly run it up the middle out of the I form, even after it stops working?

I think he gets a 3 year extension. As much as it pains me, Les isn't going anywhere. His kid will be here next year. Once he is gone, he may retire.

There will be some youngins that will take that challenge........why can't you admit that?
I'll believe it when I see it Charles. Would you want to take a job where your handcuffed with the head man's terrible gameplam yet receive all of the blame when the product sucks?
if I'm a young, up and coming OC working for Les would not be a good career move.

I hate this argument. There will always be a talented guy or two that drops off with coaching changes. What has Franks proven at the college level? Who is to say Cam/Les can do anything with him when he is here even if he lives up to his ranking? Perhaps a good OC/HC would develop an unheralded player that works in their offense and we would be fine. I would rather have an offense that scores points with 3 stars than a bunch of 5 stars that can't move the ball.

Just blows my mind the small minded knee jerk posters on this site. WK mostly plays a shot schedule with a qb than many consider NFL caliber who throws it 50 times a game. Many of the same posters like that gimmick coach at Baylor too...until they play a real defense ...lol....LSU has the right offense with the wrong qb and hc guiding it.

Agreed. It all starts with the qb. Don't need some superstar strong armed mobile qb that can't make a progression or recognize different defenses....need a smart qb with adequate skills.

I am more concerned about steele that I am about cameron. I think he needs to change his thinking on the deep pass which takes too long to develop and do more short and intermediate routes but I think steele and Peveto are unproven liabilities.

if this happens then promote from within, either Frank or Steve and hire a new LB coach and ST coach and say goodbye to Peveto as well.

One of the bigger concerns I have with all of the speculation is what happens if the administration does keep Miles another year and we start hemorrhaging quality assistants at the end of the season. The writing would clearly be on the wall. What reason would there be for someone like Frank Wilson to stick around? And I'm sure the replacements would be less than suitable in comparison given the lame duck appearance of Miles right now.

Personally, I think Cameron is a good OC. Like most, I think that our over conservative approach actually makes it harder on our QBs and on any OC to consistently perform.
Based on what in college? His time at LSU is mirroring Crowton's but worse. Great first year with a RS senior QB, bad second year with first year starter, and middle of the pack to mediocre 3rd year if the trend now continues to close out the season from the past two weeks.
People want to claim he's a great OC, but he's proven literally nothing but that he's a Crowton redux that runs a pro-style offense.

just fire Les now if that's the scenario

Jennings was the man....then Harris was the man...now franks is the man? Lol...always the next one coming in is the man....newsflash....dual qbs don't work with the LSU offense.

We pay 1.5 million to Cam for all those seasons of a lame arse offense with zero QB development and bad o-lines, ridiculous.....Les is probably butt hurt right now because his & Cam's O is a cluster frick and now Les has to get rid of his buddy to try and save some face.
Gonna be interesting to see how all this unfolds.

Lol no. Yall are misguided if you think people are going into Les' office and telling him what he has to do.
Aren't people blaming the result of Chavis leaving on exactly that with Alleva telling Les he wouldn't give Chavis an extension that was guaranteed? The facts are proving you wrong.

Hope a new OC will teach BH not to hit DB's in the helmet when his wide receiver is wide open.

This. That takes away Miles main strength - recruiting.

The OC is not the problem. You could bring in the highest rated OC in the country and Miles will have him looking like drooling imbecile in short order. How many OC's have already failed miserably under Miles?
Posted on 11/19/15 at 10:59 am to Geauxing for 3
I'm not advocating the firing of Miles. The best case for a departure would be his resignation. If Miles will actually make the effort and show resolve to fix this thing, then I would support his efforts, although history indicates otherwise. I know all about his winning record, but it appears the game has passed him by in the same fashion as ole Cholly Mac. If a change is imminent, the Alleva needs to already be in contact with a top tier replacement. LSU can't afford to lose Miles and end going with a subpar coach and staff because no one else is available like the Steele hire.
