agree engineering is a tough major but if you had time to study and prepare properly for test you could pass.

I never made a wrong calculation on a test and worried about killing a father of three or wiping out half the oyster population of the gulf of Mexico.

no, school is baby shite compared to work, adulthood, responsibilities, etc.

Enjoy your current stress-free existence.

There's more than one type of stress. In school, I was worried about studying for tests and making sure I knew how to complete assignments.

In work, dealing with bullshite makes me stressed from 8-5, but I don't have anything to worry about when I go home every day.

Truth. Enjoy the anticipation or dread if you bombed an exam, but the IRL situations are a whole lot more stressful. The pay is good though so we keep going.

Is the OP an SJW? Someone should let him know this probably isn't a safe space.

My job is pretty damn stressful, but nothing compares to bullshite of school. At least with a stressful job, you can swallow it with the understanding you're getting paid. School is just a 4 year stretch of "can you bare through it". And Mechanical Engineering is no slouch (no brag).

agree completely...I found school to be a lot worse than work.

Unless I'm working my boss's job one day, I just don't see myself needing to take work home.

Finishing up some documentation or working on a project ever so often on a Saturday night is one thing, but by and large, I don't see anything that would keep me from being free after 5 on weekdays.

I think it depends on your school and your job. Both can be stressful if you take them serious. Then again, I don't think stress is a bad thing...it motivates you and pushes you to perform better.

I do need to get back to studying though. Thanks to everyone for the kind words

I never being it home, it follows me there. Either through text messages, emails, alarm alerts, etc.

I have a strict no-talking-about-work rule at home.

Mine was a 6 year plan maybe that's why I wasn't that stressed at school. I had already done 4 years in the military too so I was probably the oldest in the class and didn't let some school stuff stress me out.

Another thing I think is true, that has already sorta been mentioned, is self induced stress.

In school, most stress is self induced. You have plenty of time to make school easy if you want. School was only stressful for me when I was going out drinking and partying Wed, Thurs, Fri and Sat night. When I was chilling and going to class and studying, there was an abundance of time to make things easy.

With work, that decision gets made for you for most as you either go to work or you get fired and weeknights out are like once a week on occassion. Not 4 nights a week for weeks in a row.

Try living a college lifestyle with a real job and get ready to fail.

For the simple reason a college lifestyle is possible in college while still passing but isn't in trying to hold a job, much less have any success, I think you have the answer in broad terms.

I've done both career and school, and school is absolutely more stressful.

Coming home from work and drinking a beer and watching TV all night >>> coming home to do 5 hours of homework and study for a test
