At the beginning of this year I predicted, to myself, that we would end up being 8-4 or 9-3 at best. We have a lot of young talent and were weak in several areas on both offense and defense. My expectations were low with having a sucessful season. But I was also hoping to possibly steal a victory from maybe Bama or A&M.

After going through this board after last night's game, I have read everything from Miles having some type of serious ailment( as viewed during his press conference) to his inability to coach at this level ever again. From what I was able to gather from Miles's presser was that he was throughly embarassed; not so much from the outcome but the fact that the stadium was pretty much empty by the middle of the fourth quarter. I really believe that was a huge awakening to him and it showed during the press conference. He finally sees it all crashing around him; from the players no longer believing to the fans that have finally spoken through leaving. Maybe last night may have been the best thing for this program and Les Miles. Maybe he will take the loss and reevaluate his coaching ability, as well as his assistances, and make the necessasary adjustments for the future.

I don't want Miles to leave. He has done great things for this university and the state of Louisiana. Just think back to the Denardo years. Think of all of the miserable years we went through up until when Saban and Miles arrived. I am truly pulling for him and this program. But one thing is for sure: I am not surprised by the outcome of this year. We are young and talented. I did not fall for the trap the national media set for this program by ranking us #2 in the country. Seriously, did any of us truly believe we were that good?

The question isn't how good are we? The question is how good could we be with a great innovative coach? Think what Jim Harbaugh could do with this talent.

Miles will continue to do the same things he's been doing. If he was going to have some sort of awakening it would have happened years ago.

I always laugh when people talk about "remember the Dinardo years". People forget that Dinardo had good teams up until his final season. That last season, when our offense was awesome but, the defense was worst in the league, is what did him in. But, I enjoyed the Dinardo years myself. During his time here we were.......

6-4-1 (this after Curley Hallman years)
10-2
9-3
4-7

AND...........................he was 3-0 in bowl games. It can be argued had he not been so stubborn to keep Tepper as his defensive coordinator he could've been at LSU for a few more years.

How long are we going to be young? Seriously, this is said every year and it may be true, but the landscape of college football has evolved to all teams having a lot of youth. Youth is no longer a valid excuse in college football.

Yes, largely because the other teams that were ranked ahead of us did not appear to be that dominant.

Dinardo won initially and looked to have the program on the right track before things fell apart in 98. he started building "the fence" and left Saban a pretty talented bunch of kids. sure 98 and 99 were miserable for somewhat different reasons, but his overall tenure was a success IMO. now Curley on the other hand....

YES! I saw our "road grader" OL and Fournette with my own eyes. I saw a young QB playing within himself and growing up. I saw a D that, other than a bust of coverage on occasion play very well.

sure we needed to improve but that's what talented teams do. THEY DON'T FRIGGIN' IMPLODE after being 7-0.

something has happened to or on this team and it ain't good. your OL doesn't just go bad overnight.

Ughh.. I don't understand this, but maybe it's because most people don't actually look at stats.

I don't have the time or energy. But YES.. WE WERE actually that good. Something happened whether it be a bigger than expected effect of losing Dillon and Moore.. or whatever.. But yes.. The team that played the first 7 games of the year would have destroyed Arkansas.

**and I did not paraphrase the guy before me.. we're just on the exact same, correct, page**

Not as good as you thought. Our dline always gave up 2-3 yards per play. Didn't work on our passing game. Tons of penalties, poor clock mgmt. the list is long.

When LSU GrandDad is hobbling off the Miles bandwagon, you KNOW things are getting serious.

I HAD US AT 9-3 10-2 AT BEST THAT IS NOT THE PROBLEM. It is the way we get there, getting killed at home by an unranked team, getting worse as the season goes along SOS etc.

From a distance, there is harmony,
and it echoes through the land.
It's the voice of hope, it's the voice of peace,
it's the voice of every stooge.

Right on. Something has happened to the team because the team that beat Florida should have trucked Arkansas. They were ready for revenge from last year's loss. Still angry about the Bama beat down. Ticked off at not getting the respect they deserve. LF is ready to show the world he is a Heisman candidate.

Instead, they look inept, out of sync, no rythem, lost, etc. This can be somewhat expected the first game or two of the season but not on the backend. OSU is getting better, OU is getting better, Bama is getting better and we are digressing.

I sir totally agree. LSU was set up for major fall. No way we were the #2 team in the country. We played solid and got some breaks against Moo State and UF. Not in same class as Bama this year (compare D-lines)

1. Now with some creative coaching we should have made the Bama game closer and a better chance to beat Ark

2. Seeing LSU warm up last night, it was clear they were not ready to play... No intensity, no focus, lots of HS d*cking around. Young ...and coaches have not instilled proper focus

3. And our Lines are hurt

Look this is very simple.

Teams we played pre Alabama were not strong.
We all had an over inflated opinion on how good LSU was.
We played hard vs Bama but they are better.
Letdown vs ark and got beat.

I don't believe ole miss is better than last year and I don't believe lsu is worse. MEMO: LSU won.
Still have good chance to win last two.
We are young team that will be better next year.

Biggest concern I have is the downturn in talent LSU has in the trenches.
Both sides of the ball, defense in particular.

Wtf has happened to Godchaux and Neal? Seriously they are non factors.

LSU needs to get off this dbu Schtick and get back to big boy football.
