1. low property taxes, no state income tax
2. great climate and geography. hills, lakes, caves, waterfalls and creeks abound. marked bicycle paths are on just about every major thoroughfare
3. healthcare hub of the south
4. higher education; vanderbilt, belmnot, libscomb, MTSU, trevecca, austin peay, a zillion community colleges and with TN promise, **EVERYONE** who graduates from high school gets free tuition for 2 year degrees and you can pick where to go.
5. nightlife - the gulch, midtown, east nashville, downtown, 12 south, world class symphony, Frist museum, bridgestone arena, nissan stadium, a jaw-dropping juggernaut of a convention center etc.
6. economy to die for - jobs are so plentiful so its an employees' market and construction is BOOMING.
7. food. nashville is officially restaurant central.
8. williamson county public schools tops in the south. forget paying $10k+ year to put your kids in a decent school.
9. housing - whether you want to be an urbanite and live in an amazing high rise downtown or opt for a quiet 2 acre plot south of town you can afford it.
10. even with nashville as large as it is, traffic is nothing like comparable cities.
11. the women..OMG..every hot 21yo wants to be a star and moves to nashville.

Yeah but but that huge tangle of ELF power lines just outside your house is going to give dementia.... And Nashville is last on the list to have Amazon drone delivery

Nashville schools are awful. The housing market is so artificially inflated right now and when it burst again so many people will be under water.

Traffic for a metro area of just over 1 and 1/2 million people is also horrible. Public transit is abysmal and amongst the worst of any major city.

Nashville is decent, but not even a top 15 city in the US.

Lived there for 3 years right after college and loved it. Would consider moving back. No state income tax really helped me out a lot financially... and yeah, the women there were great.

I'll also add that it's a great place to be an SEC fan. Lots of fans from every school there make the bars a really fun place to watch football on Saturdays. Also, Predators & Titans games are a ton of fun.

All I can think of is, that is going to take forever to rake all of those leaves in my yard.

This isn't true. I just moved from Nashville to Columbus, and although Columbus has a larger population, the traffic is much better.

Nashville needs a better by-pass system for having three major highways converging on it.

That being said, Nashville is a great city.

I've always thought it was an unfortunate looking city.

We miss it. I worked in downtown Nashville and lived in Williamson County. The private schools where I am now are not as good as the one my son was in there. The food scene is awesome.
