Classic country/gospel featuring 2 reverends standing on a volcano in front of a 10 ft satan statue. Cannot possibly be duplicated.

I dont think its an album cover (yet) but I'm sure it will become one . Saw Yahoo.com was making fun of it, that's where I first saw the picture.

Not sure if I can post the actual image, but The Black Crowes - Amorica cover is taken from the cover of the July 1976 edition of Hustler Magazine.

I was 13 when this came out and it was the greatest thing I'd ever seen.

Except for the dollop on her head, that's shaving cream (so it wouldn't melt under the lights). Model was 3 months pregnant at the time. Alpert thought it would never get past the censors.

quote:Satan Is Real is a great album FWIW. The Louvin Brothers were one of the greatest country harmony acts and influenced many who followed.

Check out "The Christian Life" (covered by Gram Parsons on the Byrds' Sweetheart of the Rodeo) and "The River of Jordan".
Charlie Louvin's autobio -- also titled Satan Is Real -- is a great read. Who knew an 80 year old bluegrass gospel singer could cuss like a drunken sailor?

I'll be honest, I haven't ever tried digging into country at all. I'll give it a listen when I get home. Will keep an open mind .

My dad had that album. I remember I was about 8 when I first saw it. Talk about an eye opener!
