This map shows all the real proposed and conceptual future Interstate corridors in Louisiana: The map shows the actual proposed I-69 route through Louisiana. The potential route for the I-269 South Shreveport Bypass concept is shown. All the LaDOTD megaproject freeways and toll-roads that could be build in a unified conceptual toll-road system {named the "Acadian Xpressway System"} are I-18, I-12, I-53, I-518 that combines the LA 1 Expressway and the Houma-Thibodaux-LA 3125 Connector proposed by LaDOTD. The bypass routes include the I-418 South Baton Rouge Bypass, I-318 Mississippi River Bridge Connector, I-218 Lafayette Metro Expressway/Outer Loop, I-253 Lake Charles Port Connector, I-453 West Monroe Bypass, and I-118 Abbeville Connector which is tied to a potential LA 82 four-lane highway to Cameron and Port Arthur Texas. The proposed I-14 Gulf Coast Strategic Highway, a real proposal from Congress, is shown with the actual proposed Alexandria/Pineville Outer Loop designated here as I-214. Also included are other real proposed Megaproject freeways (shown in blue) such as North/South Baton Rouge Loop to Walker, along with the Florida Avenue Expressway and the Earhart Expressway in New Orleans. A concept that has never been proposed but should be studied is the I-55 South Extension from I-10 in Laplace to I-18 with a new Mississippi River Bridge (shown in blue).

damn look how little land St Bernard and Plaqumines have in that map.

No way the state could afford a third of these, still waiting on I-49 to hit I-910.

(I-910 is the government designation for the westbank expressway, to the govt it's an Interstate, but it's marked 90 Bus in NOLA and West Jeff.)

and if these do ever get built, I sincerely hope we stop with building interstates right through our towns and cities

all that does it destroy those areas

Shreveport is fighting right now about the I-49 connection about whether to loop it or cut it right next to downtown

I'm all for the loop because all interstates do is create more blight when they cut through cities

This is physically possible with the current rules regarding wetlands mitigation. One would need to change those rules, at least in respects to highways, in order to make this even physically feasible. It will still be a virtual fiscal impossibility.

The proposed red one down in the SW part of the state thru Cameron and Vermilion Parishes. Never gonna happen. Environmentalist, Corps of Engineers, etc, etc would never allow an interstate thru the last few remaining marsh and swamp ecosystems in the US. And I agree!

I'd love the irony if you were working for some DOT, wasting time with these posts and not doing shite else.
